here I am with another request for you to support TRUE TALENT! This will most probably be the last chance I have, but in this thread, I'm here to tell you that talent does not equal Suhit Gosain.
I know, I know, there's so many topics about Suhit.. and you Suhitians may not care what we have to say.. yeah, all that stuff. Could you just please throw those phrases away for a while, until you're finished reading and posting to my thread? š³
I want to have a normal conversation here as to why Suhit is a good/bad singer. Please show your thoughts and explain why you think so, because there is no meaning to a thought without an explanation that goes with it! š
Read on if you want, Suhitians, please don't get offended as this is my point of view. (and many other, talent-supporting peoples' opinion as well)
First of all, I'd like to say, someone let me know that the voting lines are closed š³ but since we all know who's coming back, (Suhit, obviously.. he has too many fans) this post is for in the future... when Suhit comes back and sings as a real contestant again... the following addresses why there are better choices than him! š
I'm starting by saying.. that we all may have different ways of thinking about talent. However, the true dictionary definition states it as
- A marked innate ability, as for artistic accomplishment. See synonyms at ability.
- Natural endowment or ability of a superior quality.
- A person or group of people having such ability: The company makes good use of its talent.
-----------
See, Suhitians, it says it there, for ya, in red!! Superior quality!! And since this contest is for singing, we must look for superior quality of voice-- aka singing ability. That's what gives a person talent.
Now, don't think I'm wasting my time writing this because I have nothing better to do and I want to make Suhitians mad. That's not at all true. I'm taking time out of my life (yes I have a life š) to explain to you all about what true talent is.
Why are some of you supporting someone whose-- got the looks, got the personality, got the stage presence-- but not the singing.. ??! This is a singing contest right? Or am I completely mistaken?
That's like someone going to an inventing contest, and they start SINGING there... imagine that they sing wonderfully... but they don't have very good inventing skills? Why would you vote for someone like that to win an inventing contest?? š
When there are more deserving people, who will light up India's name, make it a country known for its wondrous singers, (Bharat ki Shaan!) why would you vote for the one who will only degrade India?
Come on people, when someone records a song, you can't see them singing when you hear the song, can you? So stage presence wouldn't even matter there! Neither would looks/personality... because all you can hear is the person's voice.
I can imagine someone in America turning on their TV one day, and getting a bad image of Indian singers because of Suhit.. imagine that American TV viewer turning on a news channel that's talking about Indian Idol... just picture this conversation:
News reporter: And here we are, listening to a performance of Suhit Gosain, the winner of Indian Idol 3!
Suhit starts singing... the man watching his TV covers his ears... and thinks: "So this is what Indian people consider TALENT?!"
Imagine how many people would be watching that TV broadcast, thinking the exact same thing about India!! š
-----------------------------
If we promote those people that actually deserve recognition, we wouldn't be doing any harm, would we? š³ In fact, we would be helping out so many voices that are truly deserving of it!
What makes a person deserving of recognition? Well, I'll tell you:
There's two different opinions on this: The opinions of the Suhitians... and then the opinions of the... err.. non-Suhitians.
Suhitians consider that this makes a person deserving of recognition: Good looks, good style of clothes, a cool personality, maybe a little bit of singing talent, as that doesn't matter very much, (hmmm) whatever they consider to be the "X-factor" and great stage presence!
Then there are the non-Suhitians: A good voice, someone who is comfortable onstage (good stage presence) a good person, and they should have the "X-factor," the "total package."
Okay, which do you support? I'm pretty sure you know which one I support.. š³ and if you don't, I'm horrible at conveying my thoughts to others. ššš
Now, many girls have gone crazy over Suhit! Don't be blinded by loveš, snap out of your daydreaming, please... I can imagine that you all Suhitians hear his singing much differently! We hear a besura, non-deserving voice, while you all, blinded by your love in him, hear an angelic chorus of heavenly figures, singing beautifully in the sky..... šš
I'm not trying to make fun of anyone, please understand this. If you want to post a comment, please make it well-thought-out, and it should explain any reasons you like/dislike Suhit! You don't have to write a book like I did, but just convey your thoughts in that message. š³
I (you won't believe this) actually liked Suhit near the beginning, until (only a few episodes later) I realized that I wasn't supporting those people that need support! Those that are truly wonderful singers!! Suhitians, close your eyes when you're listening to his songs, and please tell me you hear what non-Suhitians are hearing!
I'm not going to comment much on the whole Suhit-Charu incident, though I do believe he was verbally abusing her on national television... and it was wrong.
Anyway, I'm sure that Suhitians agree that Suhit isn't the best singer.. then why are you voting for him? As I said before, this IS a singing contest, right?? Or maybe it has turned into more than just that... hmm...š³
If you Suhitians actually like Suhit, then realize that voting for him will not help him in the long run! He won't realize that he's not incredibly good, and he will assume he's great at singing. Therefore he won't exactly show much improvement!
You know, you have the power to vote, and to change the futures of these contestants! So please think before you vote... it's all in your hands. You have the power to make a right decision... so, are you going to use that power correctly?
