Why Shantanu will not fall for Paro - Page 4

Paro is addressing Shantanu as BHAI SA...why would Rudra get jealous and do you guys think Shantanu will fall in love with someone who calls him Bhai sa?

...Rudra is THIS suspicious, Shantanu cannot look like the real Jammu/Kashmir officer, and he cannot change that guy's personnel records even if he did kill him and took his place.

Navin, the Thakur long ago had pretty much flaunted his knowledge of BSD turncoats in high places to Rudra. This probably fed in to the fact that Rudra faked Paros death even to the BSD public. Shantanu could be a fake BSD officer, who has stolen the identity of Mr. Dead J&K. This is quite easily done with a little help from his fellow infiltrators. Records can be changed at will, as can DNA tests, pregnancy reports, and any other popular documentation on Indian TV! So yes, he will have an identity that holds up. - and this is why he turned to stone when Danveer talked about finding out his "janam kundali" - he thought the stolen identity and hacked records did not take. He definitely has a line of sight into those records since he fanboyed to Rudra over those previous mission reports!

Rudra would absolutely have access to the original guy's files, and those records would include the army officer's mug-shot.

But if those records are hacked, all he would have is Mr Dimple face! He is probably checking those records right now as we speak!

But one thing that puzzled me, and made me think-- Its what the Knife looked like.

And that made me question whether this guy was a real Army Officer-- in spite of the official looking stamped paper and the to-die-for dimples.

I will go one more step Navin. That appointment letter did not have a signature from VK Singh,, no title to both addressee and sender, and bad grammar! If it were just me, the last would be the dead giveaway, but I would go with no signature and no titles.

Also--- I don't think him being a psychopath would negate him falling for Paro,

Oh but don't psychopaths only love themselves - heres where your knowledge of literary tropes will make me learn a thing or two. However, if right now he is doing nafrat with itni shiddat and lagan, a volte face would seem a bit weak. But then so was the ending of Malas track for some.

And either man--BSD or Psychopath--- will never have come across her potent blend of innocence, openness, her kind heart and her total, un-mitigating love for her husband. She is the light of the house, and the Major's very much loved wife. Its hard not to stare at that, and want something like it for yourself.
Consider two men--the BSD Shantanu (innocent army officer/unaware of brother's evil) OR Pyschopath Shantanu (evil man, aware of terrorism, maybe even a part of the group). Either man will be affected by Paro once they understand her.
Either version of "love" is doomed, of course, in the face of the passion between two soul-mates being guided by Bholenath himself into an eternal love-story.

Navin, my dear, you see, you GET Paro. So do I and a few others who think RR is a balanced love story. But hell, there are millions on this IF forum, from the Rudra shippers and the actress shippers themselves who do not! They think Paros character is paper thin, that she is foolish, that she is flat, that she has no depth, that the actress has been under-utilized. The fans do not get her and neither do the characters - Laila thought she was a gaai, so did Sumer and Mohini. I actually think the odds are stacked against Shantanu seeing that about Paro. The more he stares at the soul connection between Rudra and Paro, the more he (IMO) would hate it, because it reminds him of the price at which it came - his dead brother, whom he has to care about, because if he does not, who else will? Who will justify his own current state of being stark mad?

Either way--I don't see jealousy happening for long (if it even happens, which I doubt).

Jealousy thrives on shadows, on unsaid words and secret fears. Paro has never allowed her Major Saab to stay for long within the darkness of his mind. She will smash away any insecurities with a kiss, a hug and total, devoted love.

AND he will be the better for having had a trial by fire, where he has had to either protect her from a Pyshopath, or learnt to appreciate the miracle he has married when another man also wants her, and she chooses her Major, as she always has, and always will.

Ah Navin! You get me every time! I want to agree with you. I want to buy into this idea. But it requires uncommon talent on the part of the writers and uncommon courage. And total disregard for TRPS, Big Boss and other mundane details. Still, can I just say I love these paragraphs in a mad, no-holds barred way?

I think its important that Rudra loves her with all his heart and soul, because she loves him that way.

Great post and nice replies. While I am not a fan of jealousy, I am thinking of the alternative - hardcore killing, as some kind of honour killing. Somehow that seems so bleak and absolutely not a TRPs pleasing arc. Read an article that says that Shantanu will kill "some people". So no idea where they are going with this 😆

Hmm... this Shantanu character confuses me, for now. It has just been 1 day in the haveli and "I" think there is every chances of him falling for Parvati . He is a psycho, no doubt there, and I highly doubt him being a BSD officer. As I said he is a psycho, his mind can take any direction and can weave a story around nothing ... so him falling/ getting obsessed with Paro is not a big deal, even if he seems to hate her now.

Rudra is not a easy nut to crack, that I had said in a post I had made yesterday. Shantanu had to work really hard to make Rudra trust him. He can use Paro as a pawn to do that. And once Paro starts helping him, then it will be done in a snap...

First I had thought that he will be kept as a mysterious man and will make Rudra's life hell by stalking Paro, but in yesterday's epi he says he is here to make everyone's life hell ... so I dont know what the CV's can come up for the sake of TRPs.

If this shantanu works wrt TRPs he may stay and his character will be explored and if he doesnt than all the beautiful analysis of Baisas like you will lay forgotten and he will be kicked out like Laila ...

Shona, you are saying that Shantanu will fall for her because he is psycho and unstable? I do not think he is psycho in the true sense. He is sociopathic, a terrorist at heart. And the whole Paro Rudra trust thing ... I think he will not succeed at softening Rudra nor getting at him through Paro. Then I think he will either abduct her or put another family member in danger - my prediction!😉 Paro can only push Rudra so much. Even with Mala - if he had not wanted to forgive her in the first place, he would not have. If he makes up his mind about something, nothing and no one, not even Paro can change it. Its a good thing he has never been misguided! And his instinct will not desert him now.

She will not allow it. Its as simple as that. Small sign of jealousy, We will have mrs jallad looking at him with her doe like eyes.. Chiding him.. Her eyes will convey her disappointment at him for thinking like that.. Throw in a bit of sulking...and we will have one cute major..with out of the world expressions trying to apologise for being silly. We might even get to see MAJOR JALLAD SINGING AGAIN!! ( no.. I dont want KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI.. They kind of ruined it for me after the mahasangam. Its no more Rudra and Paro's song ) .and matter solved!! 1001 episodes based on jealousy may work with other desi couple but not wit PARO AND RUDRA.

Thank you Kate. I am very heartened that you, Navin, Hope and many others do not think that jealousy is possible. Paro indeed goes above and beyond to take care of her Major saabs dil! She revived it and received it with so much difficulty after all! 😳
