Recap - Teej has come to end! It's the evening, when all the pretty, beautiful baisas are busy waiting for their better-halfs to come home and break their fast. All is fine, they have a small pooja, spend some time on swings, while awaiting and then the current goes off! Things take a darker turn, all are busy here and there and Paro ends up alone on a swing. She is all silent, until the MG (Mysterious Guy) makes an entrance and spooks the hell out of her, she believing it was her Major Saab, all along. Rudra arrives at the right moment, catches hold of the MG, when Sumer waltz's in and the he escapes. Paro is terrified and Rudra helps her out, consoles her and explains things to both her and his entire family. Samrat and Mythili are mostly absent from all of this and are busy resolving their own issues.
Scene 1 Rudra comes to know Paro is fasting and waits till she admits it. and beautifully describes Paro's and Mala's actual relationship, having Mala mentioning the fact herself and requesting him not to be rude to her.
Rudra is all set to sleep (BSD unifrom se Black Kurte mein), he opens his bedroom door and Mala is right there, in front of him.
Mala - Khana.
Mala - Food/Dinner.
Rudra is pleasantly surprised, before he says something, Mala explains.
Mala - Tum dono le liye. Aaj.. Aaj Parvati ka vrat tha na?
Mala - It's for the both of you. Today.. Today was Parvati's fast, right?
Rudra is confused, slightly angry and she interjects.
Mala (casually, like a proud MIL/Maa, concerned) - Daantna mat use! Bahut iccha thi, uski. Aur vaise bhi, tumne bhi.. kuch nahi khaya.
Mala - Don't you scold her! She geniuniely wanted to. (To fast). And likewise, you too.. haven't had something to eat. (Meaning your hungry, don't deny)
He gets the plate, and she smiles. She is about to take leave, when he responds.
Rudra (dispprovingly) - Shukriya.
Rudra - Thank you.
He goes inside the room, towards Paro. She is seen sitting comfortably on the bed.
She straightens herself and he sits beside her.
Paro - Kaun tha?
Paro - Who was it?
Rudra knows Paro is fasting and he tries to level the field, see to it that she admits the same, by trying not to engage her in sweet-talk.
Rudra (placing the extra plate next to her, right down to buisness) - Toh aaj, vrat nahi rakha na, tune?
Rudra - So today, you aren't fasting, right?
Paro is taken aback and yet plays along, she not knowing that he knows the truth.
Paro (swiftly) - Nahi, Nahi. Voh..
Paro - No, No. That..
Rudra is busy in burki todne mein. (tearing/breaking apart a small a piece of roti) He doesn't look up.
Paro - Bas.. Main ne na, S..Sunheri ke saath.. A.. aa aarti..
Paro - Enough.. I with, S.. Sunheri, A.. aa Aarti..
She in interrupted by Rudra feeding her, and he doesn't hold back his compliments.
Rudra - Chup kar! Dhang se jhoot bolna bhi nahi aata, tujhe!
Rudra - Be quiet! You don't even know how to properly lie!
Paro busy chewing her food and looks like an innocent been scolded, Rudra gets onto the next burki.
Paro (innocently, calmly) - Aapse kisne kaha ki, main ne vrat rakha?
Paro - Who informed you that, I was fasting today?
Rudra remains silent and she goes on.
Paro - Aur yeh, khana kaun laaya?
Paro - And this, who brought this food?
Rudra (was hoping she wouldn't ask this question) - Voh laayi thi.
Rudra - She brought it. (Calling Maa sa, as a third person)
Paro (quickly) - Voh? (Then having realise, it's Mala) Accha, Maa sa?
Paro - She? Okay, Maa sa?
Rudra now, looks up, into her eyes and Paro is busy drawing conclusions about his mood.
Paro - Iss liye aap, gussa hain?
Paro - Is that why, you so angry/hyper?
Rudra just got even more irritated and she too is not that glad. (Trying to misguide Major Saab, even if he is disinterested!)
Paro (looking down, faking her anger with Mala) - Yeh, Maa sa bhi na? Peeche padi rehti hain?
Kitni baar main ne unse kaha hai ki, unse door rahe!
Rudra's reactions - Yeah right! Okay, let's here what more you have to say/lie about..
Paro (knowing she hasn't convinced him enough, tries to get off from the bed) - Aap rukiye! Main abhi unse jaakar baat karti hoon.
Paro - You wait! I'll just go have a chat/talk with her.
Rudra knowing it's going to far, takes the liberty to stop the cute drama, fake anger Paro's expressing.
Rudra (in the most delightful manner)- Bas kar, bandh kar yeh naatak.
Rudra - Come on, give it a rest. Stop all this drama.
Paro (feeling she can still play with his feelings/mood) -Natak! Kya natak?
Paro - Drama! What drama?
Rudra (trying to ease into the situation and not get hyper, playing along, since she isn't backing out) - Yeh! Jo voh, tere aur us aurat ke beech chal raha hai.
Rudra - This, the very same drama that is happening between you and that lady!
Paro is getting jittery, feeling the pressure that he might figure out the truth. She stares at him, gulping.
Rudra (twisting his words so that she blurts out the truth) - Natak kiya na?
Rudra - Pretending, right? (Were pretending)
Paro (not able to face him, almost inaudible) - Ha..
Paro - Ya..
Paro (sincerely) - Aapko pata tha?
Paro - You know all along?
Rudra (gazing, honestly) - Nahi.
Rudra - No.
She is surprised, confused what did happen that Major Saab had concluded the same. Rudra explains everything.
Rudra (sincerely) - Lekin, jab aaj tujhe dekha, darri hui, pareshan. Jab teri Maa sa ki, zaroorat thi, shaant hone ke liye. (He gazes, she looks down, coyly) Aur jab voh tere saath khadi thi, tera haath thama (she looks deeply into his eyes) Samaj gaya tha ki, sab naatak chal raha hai. (He keeps staring, happy for the way things turned out, filled with gratitude) Samaj gaya tha ki, (She pushes her hair behind her ear, listening carefully) kuch nahi toota. Abhi bhi tere liye, uske man mein kitna pyaar hai. (She is smiling) Voh judaav, abhi bhi vaisa hai ya, (He looks down for second) uss se bhi gehra. (She is touched by his confession/obseravtion).
Rudra - But, today when I saw you, scared, worried, when you needed your Maa sa the most, to remanin calm/silent, and when she stood right next to you, held your hand, I understood, that all of this was a drama(show/pretend act). I understood that, nothing was broken (as in their relationship), what you presently feel for for, how much you still love her. That bond, was it the same even today, or, maybe just deepened.
Having let out what he thought about Mala and Paro, he comes back to the matter of concern.
Rudra(frankly, truthfully) - Iss liye kar rahi thi, yeh sab? Taaki iss par, mujhe asar pade aur main, uske liye, tujh se ladon! (She is worried he might scold her, get furious with her) Bewakoof Ladki! Uske liye, mujhse daant khaane ke liye, tayar thi! (She is relieved he is pretty calm in scolding her, and understood the situation)
Rudra - This is why you were, doing all this? So that, all of this, would affect me, and that I would retort, get angry with you? Foolish girl! (As in your so naive) For that, you were ready to get rebuked by me! (You took such extreme measures, and were ready to handle my angry comments)
Paro (slowly) - Aap naaraaz ho?
Paro - Are you miffed/cross?
Rudra slowly, looking down at the plate, nods no.
Paro (excited) - Tu iska matlab aap ne Maa sa ko maaf kr diya?
Paro - Okay, so does this mean you have forgiven, Maa sa?
Rudra quickly gets on the next burki and cutely forces it into her mouth, so that she stops pestering him.
Rudra (slightly annoyed) -Baat ko zyaada kheench mat! Khana kha aur so ja.
Rudra - Don't drag along the topic (Means don't draw unneccesary conclusions/stop chit-chatting). Have food and go off to sleep.
Paro (proudly having, pulled the right strings, with a satisfactory smile on her face, takes a burki and feeds him.
The moon looks over, shining it's brght light over the Ranawats's Haveli, while the scene shifts.
