Janani.Karthik@timesgroup.com Actors Senthil and Srija, who are popularly known as Saravanan and Meenakshi, have tied the knot in real-life now. The duo played the lead roles in the TV serial, Saravanan Meenakshi for almost six years. The couple got married in a private affair at Tirupati recently .

Says Senthil, "Our fans are responsible for this marriage. Wherever we went, people told us that we look like a made-for-each-other couple. This struck the right chord between us. We've worked for six years on the serial and more than love, we have developed a beautiful friendship and understanding during the shoot.
It was only during the second season we thought of getting married." Saravanan and Meenakshi's wedding was a grand affair in the serial a few years ago, and viewers were invited for the event; in fact, both the families of the actors were also present on the occasion. But, unlike their serial wedding, Senthil and Srija's real-life wedding was a very simple and quiet affair.

However, Senthil clarifies that it was not a hush-hush affair as reported by some media. "Our wedding shoot for the serial was too grand and we wanted to differentiate our reallife wedding from that one. So, we decided to go private for my personal wedding. Both our parents were present at Tirupati. We got married last week, but before I could make the announcement, our driver put up the pictures of our wedding online."
