My identity & realization in the book & in the film was a little varied,
In the 6th film Dumbledore never told harry that Voldermort might have turned something precious, something that may have belonged to each house of Hogwarts into a horcrux..so by the end of 6th film Harry was left with far less clues in Horcrux mission ..moreover, the horcrux cup in the film was never identified as Hufflepuf's cup but just a horcrux that Harry identifies in the Gringotts Bellatrix's Vault..
Though my end was the same & satisfying, the film showed it whereas the book only mentioned the information it carried.
The destruction of the cup was shown in the film wherein Hermoine stabs it with a basilisk fang in the chamber of secrets, but in the book Ron & Hermoine disappear for the time being & return with the destroyed cup..however both the scenarios led to a satisfying end of the horcrux & Ron-Hermoine kiss..lol..
The differences were inevitable since unlike the book ,the film was deprived of the luxury of my details,
So the viewers had to be content with whatever the film entails.
The details of the cup as presented through Dumbledore's collection of memories was missing from the film..
I had always been treasured & guarded ,however when my identity doubled, the increased security played a major role,
The cup was already treasured & guarded as a precious family heirloom before Voldermort stole it but after Voldermort turned it into a horcrux ,its identity doubled- first a family heirloom of the Hufflepuff's descendants & now a horcrux too..the cup was then hidden in Bellatrix's Gringotts Volt under high security..
But the heroes out-shined it & almost achieved their goal.
The leading trio penetrated the Gringott's security measures & succeeded in stealing the cup but werent able to destroy the cup as planned since Griphook double crossed them & took away the Gryffindor's sword which had the potential to destroy a horcrux..
The first time I was robbed along with my brother from my original owner, an innocent being was criminalized for killing the gullible owner,
When Tom Riddle killed the original owner of the cup after stealing it, he modified the owner's house elf's memory to make her believe that she accidentally poisoned her owner & was thus held responsible for the death..
Later it led to my prolonged end when I was robbed for the second time from the new sinister owner.
The leading trio stole the cup from Bellatrix's Vault in Gringotts which ultimately led to the "prolonged destruction" of the horcrux as they werent able to destroy the horcrux quickly since the Gryffindor's sword was no longer with them..
