Chapter 2

Shlok rubbed his thumb on the rim of the glass, deep in his thoughts.

"you here, Shlok?" A female voice entered his ears, bringing him out of his thoughts.

He grinned at his dear youngest sister, Jyoti, and replied "should I be somewhere else?"

She smiled and asked "What happened? I thought you wouldn't be coming back since you will busy catching up with your lover. Oh! I meant lovers."

"you think I'm blamed here, when they are the one doing courting not me, I'll be damned if I ever asked them."

"You don't even deny, now do you?" She pointed out.

"Why I will deny the pleasure they gave me, besides they use their greatest weapon to soften my heart" he said frustratingly.

She laughed "Poor Shlok, who would've thought that tears can be a greatest weapon against the big strong man named Shlok Agnihotri?"

He glared at her "you think it's funny!"

"It isn't?" she questioned.

He didn't answer and looked away.

"there is a solution to this problem"

"What?"

"Fall in love."

"You think I never tried that? Love comes naturally, there isn't a women who ever caught my heart. I will be the happiest person if ever I'll be in love."

"And she would be the most unlucky girl."

"Why? She would be happy to have me, every woman wants me, she would be lucky to have me."

"That's the point, every woman wants you, they will throw themselves to you, you yourself admit you don't deny the pleasure they give you, what if you felt that you don't love her anymore."

"Nay, that will never happen. I will remain faithful to her. And if ever I'll be in love, I will love only once."

"Let's see. By the way, when are you sailing back home?"

"two days from now."

"Oh, I will miss you" she said sadly.

"I will miss my little sister too.." He said and gave her a tight hug.

"You are the best cousin, Sid!" Astha cheered while giving him a hug.

"I don't know how you do it, but you sure manipulate me." Sid said irritatingly, not returning her hug.

She grinned and replied "can't disagree. I can't believe it, finally, I would be going to a tavern"

"Listen, It isn't a place for a lady, we will be there for only thirty minutes, no arguments only thirty minutes! We will only be testing if people can see through your disguise, if people would make mistake to look at you as a young lad rather than a full grown woman. But still I'm telling you we can go to some--"

"No! this is the only chance I can test my disguise as well get inside a tavern."

He rolled his eyes and replied "damn your curiosity and stubbornness! Let's go!"

Sid gave another glance at her, she was nervous like a pup, even though she made a great disguise looking like a man, she knew once she's discovered, no one could save her from this many brawny looking guys coming in and out of the tavern. She had worn a long big sweater which is double her size, covering even her delicate small hands, slightly patched breeches, nearly tampered boots of a young lad, and a woolen cap covering not only head but her neck, ears as well her honey gold eyes, as long as she managed to look down. She was a sorry looking lad, but then again that was the point of this disguise.

A loud thud caught everyone's attention, every eye went towards two gents entering the tavern, both of them large framed upper class nobles, completely out of place. While Sid hid his face, Astha couldn't keep her eyes off on them, particularly one of them.

Astha swore she had never seen, such a handsome, devilish looks in any man. His face was magnificent, dark black hair curled against his neck and forehead, his arrogant chiseled nose, full sensual lips curled into smile, his large framed body too intimidating for not only woman but for man also, his eyes? What could be the color of his eyes?

"Stop ogling at him!" she heard Sid's scolding voice.

She glanced at Sid angrily and replied defensively "I wasn't ogling, just curious. But why the hell are you hiding your face?"

He grinned and said "because one of them is my mate, we had fight recently, think he's after me again.."

Astha rolled her eyes at his grin, the damn fool is happy about getting beat up.

She glanced at those two and nervously said "I guess he is after you and he's comin--"

Before she could complete her sentence, Sid was already lifted from the chair through his collar till both of them were glaring at each other, their faces only inches apart.

"Didn't I tell you, Shlok. I've seen him coming in.." Anshul said while fuming with anger.

Who he wants to remain faithful to? So Sid in brawl wid Shlok😈 c.s
