Summer evening ...a squirrel jumped from one branch to another, and that impacted and ruffled the leaves of the Peepal tree ...as if a person who is drowned in her deep thoughts suddenly wakes up from that slumber and realizes the actualities of life !
Anandi was sitting on the cement bench of the Rose garden in Kesarbagh... left in a void ...reviewing her life's recent happenings in that turbulent solitude!
Why these strange things are happening to me...Is it a sin to live life on one's own terms ...without doing any harm to others ...adjusting everywhere ...at every stage ..always thinking about others and their happiness? Now why I am feeling powerless ...this is the time I have to support my Shiv ...have to do something ...to bring him back on the track of life . He is more than shocked ...in a way petrified ...unable to do anything...because he is trapped in a lustful and vengeful woman's web...he is unable to establish the truth !
Yes ...all men can stand adversity in every aspect of life but not in love !!! He thought that Rasika was loving him and his thoughts stopped there ..and his culture did not allow him to think beyond that point !
But Anandi knows the truth ...lust lead Rasika to take bold steps ... Then Shiv's rejection burnt her desire and then lust dominated and fanned criminal tendencies in her ! ..Anandi met her to try and change Rasika's attitude and make her realize, in this thirsty tryst ..what she lost and where she is heading ...she wanted to tell Rasika ...not Shiv, but she is doing more harm to herself .
But Rasika is so adamant to acknowledge her sympathetic advise and abused her further more and almost pushed her out of her house . Anandi realized that a stern action is needed here to save her Shiv !
Then ...while coming out Anandi looked back ...looked at Rasika , just like a tigress takes a pause before pouncing on it's prey...a warning in her glares ...anger in her words ...her steps were depicting a warrior's march forward..yes a decision has been taken !
Rasika realized this ... was stunned and stood there as if she was stranded amidst a ring of fire ...seen Anandi's power...her strong mind ...her ability to rise from defeat in a majestic way...confidence in her body language , and her maturity when it comes to handling relationships !! There itself ...in front of her ...Rasika had seen the different shades of woman power instantaneously and a thrust towards life ! A shiver went up her spine ... for the first time a sort of realization dawned on her! ...this woman is not an ordinary mortal...looks like a holy revolution personified !
Anandi was sitting in that garden and thinking about the events of the day .
Suddenly she remembered her mother ...and she looked at her palms thoughtfully ... "Ma ..that day , in my childhood when we lost everything to Mahavir Singh, to beat the poverty ... we worked as daily labourers in a construction site ...after that trying day ..in the night ...you applied oil to my palms and cried a lot for my physical pain ...but ma ...do you know ...later I experienced so much pain in life ... whenever life crushed and threw me on the ground ...I used to remember your soothing gesture and got solace and again gathered courage and fought back with every adversity ...with that beautiful thought of your love and affection ma !
Today you are not there ...but ...yes I have another ma who shaped my life ...made me realize the life's truths ... that by being calm and composed you always win the world ! I inculcated those tender feelings and caring nature of yours and am moving further in my life ...many a times running towards you I got solace in your embrace ! Today ...you also moved away from me ..to a farther destination . Where I have to seek solace ...from where I can derive that fighting spirit ..that inner strength ?
Dadisa ! ...for few seconds Anandi got a ray of hope ...yes Dsa is there for me ...she can understand me and give me solace in this trying time ...A thoughtful pause ...then she shook her head with a no ! Dsa is entangled with her social commitments towards the village and there in BH many things are happening at a fast pace and at this juncture bothering her is not good ! Yes ..her capability of stern action and assertive nature taught me to work with determination ...if need arises ! She was thinking ...what to do ??!!
She knows that Shiv is not at fault ...his only sin is slapping Rasika in that entangling moment of seduction!...to stop her in that fanatic rage . In a sharp contrast he stood tall for having saved their marriage despite Rasika's deadly temptations !---here the problem went much beyond a fatal attraction! Rasika was gaming for shifting perspective and looking for a traditionally unacceptable relationship ..with an uninterested Shiv !
Then why Rasika is lying ? What she wants from him ...here she got the clear answer and closed her eyes with frustration ...how is it possible to expose Rasika and bring out the truth ?
Suddenly she remembered the words of Rasika 'you can ask anybody from my previous office colleges and bosses ...they will tell you how honest and respectable person I am '!
She got a clue and set herself an agenda and decided to move in that direction and explore the truth and expose the real colour of this seductress ! She tried her best to save Rasika from defaming herself ...to settle the matter within the four walls ...but Rasika is so adamant to act or react to Anandi's good advice !
Now her main aim is ..saving Shiv ...her lovable husband !
A tender hand pressed her shoulder , she heard the sweet word Ma! She turned her head and saw Amol there with a smile on his face !She hugged her son ... closed her eyes for a few seconds ..and the motherly instinct dominated in her and forgot all troubles for a second! With him she moved inside the house with a determined look !
Hazy paths are nothing new for her... always has been a lonely traveler ...nobody is there to share her sorrow, because people look upon her as a troubleshooter! .. right now, searching for solace ...yes there is a cool soul ...Chotima who can give her shoulder to lean on ...to get some peace !
As she put Amol to sleep and entered her bedroom she saw a disturbed Shiv sleeping in a curled up position. She slowly tucked herself in the bed and started visualizing next day's proceeding... As her thoughts were straying from one event to the other, she suddenly remembered, how at her Mehendi' ceremony, police came, arrested and took away Shiv on false charges, courtesy Jagdish, and howshe ran out with a haldi smeared' face to give moral support to Shiv and handled the media and helped Shiv to come out clean, again, because of a repentant Jaggiya! She gathered courage, reviewed the facts file' outlined her action plan and with a shade of contentment, she slowly slipped into her sleep.
