Certain stuff repeatedly brought up in this forum has made me think hard and realise some truths very much valid in real life.
- Rape is serious but everyone would like to neglect or wish it away
Comments like maybe Payal was not raped, she must be lying, okay rape happened but Shaurya did not do it, okay even if he raped so what? Who watches show for lectures or gyan, we want love story, we want "entertainment".
- Blame the victim or belittle her trauma
Payal was not raped, maybe she is lying, maybe Dev raped her and she thinks it is Shaurya, she should be paired with Dev, no if Dev marries Durga then reform Shaurya and make Payal marry her rapist, this is fake, how can so many people go against one girl? Maybe she is mistaken, Rajnath raped her, someone else did and she thinks it is Shaurya and is drawing his face or terrified of him for nothing, Payal has false memories, mistaken flashbacks, Payal is a facade, Payal's statements cannot be believed as she was in trauma, Divya's eyewitness account is flawed, why Payal did not scream, why Divya did not shout and instead called Nitya, Payal encouraged Shaurya by accepting lift in his car in past, Payal did not resist him enough, if Payal could hit his friend then why she did not hit him and escape?, etc.
- Sympathy/support and eternal benefit of doubt for Rapist
Especially if rapist is rich and good looking!đ
Maybe he did not do it, maybe it was his friends' fault who led him to do it, maybe he did it because Payal or Nitya hurt his mahaan male ego, he is just a playboy, he is just a spoilt brat - love of Durga will "reform" him, he should be reformed not punished, show will flop if he is punished and proven the rapist, it is his parents' fault he is like that, he will ask forgiveness from Payal and repent then it will be fine, he can go to jail for sometime and return reformed ready to impress and marry Durga, if Durga marries Dev then Shaurya can marry Payal, why would Shaurya rape Payal when any girl would willingly fall at his feet?
- Justify supporters of wrongdoers
Sakshi is just a loving mother who wants to protect her son so what if she got Durga's family eliminated, made Payal mentally unstable, bought witnesses, blinded Bagchi and kidnapped his daughter and later tried to kill them?
Durga is foolish. How did she think Sagarika would go against her father? Who goes against her own father even if he is wife beater, woman abuser, philanderer, blackmailer?
Going against friends and family is wrong or unthinkable.
- Being good and well behaved is bad or "boring" đ€Ș
Dev is a bore. He is pathetic. Maybe he is real rapist. He looks bad opposite Durga. Gundas and crap people are great. We love murderers, rapists, playboys and urban mawaalis.
We do not like good people. We like dirty stuff that can be apparently "reformed".
- TV should be idiot box only
TV reaches widest among all forms of media. But it should remain dumb. We want entertainment which means love story. Who wants "lecture" or "gyan" on women?
Durga fighting for justice is boring. We want love story either with rapist or new guy. What message? Let us look at chemistry and sexual tension and rate which one has better!
Maybe Durga should marry Shaurya for revenge and saas bahu drama between her and Sakshi would be great.

CONCLUSION -
Seeing some stuff in this forum I am no longer surprised or shocked at comments of politicians who say boys will be boys, they make mistakes, rape happens, or rape happens due to men eating chow mein or women wearing western clothes or not wearing dupatta properly, rape happens when women go out, rape is fake word invented for sensationalism, when relation between boy and girl comes out it is called rape etc, etc.
People at large have ignorant and dismissive attitude towards rape. No wonder people's representatives speak like this.
No wonder there is only lame content on TV and no more variety as it was in 90s. We want saas bahu and love story everywhere. Anything remotely connected to reality or facts is gyan and gyan is now bad. Gyan was a revered word once, now only a joke.
Girl is best only as shy lover or bride that is in love stories and marriages. Fighting for justice for your sister, dead parents...so boring. We affirm we ourselves want to stereotype women.
We are superficial. Looks, richie rich stuff, sex is all that matters in what we want to watch. Any other subject is a bore.
EHT has really exposed reality whether in their show or reality of people (whose reactions we are duly seeing often on this forum).đđŒ
