I think Bala is quite intelligent, not taking his plan to catch the students leaking the exam papers into consideration, so I think after sometime he knew Raman well. Most probably after Ishita and Raman's marriage that is 😊

Sometimes it is only when you meet a person the sixth sense just get connected and automatically you believe the person in front of you may be it happens with Bala...he sensed the good, human being in Raman and his belief in Raman just clicked.No need of any other excuses.
