Not saying if he would be able to carry them off , but if he started doing movies like 3 idiots,Barfi, Gangs of wasseypur...would his legion of fans who make crap like Jai ho cross 100 crores , would make such films bigger hit or they would desert him coz they only expect masala films from him?

defiantly, a great example of a good salman kham movie is dabangg 1

with Dabangg, salman khan returned to stardom... I mean before dabangg yes wanted was a hit but soon his other movie failed.. but it was Dabangg that put him back in the map..I think dabangg had that unqiue story.. and Salman was the perfect actor who could play that kind of role.

I think most fans still expect a dabangg type of movie out of him.. that is why they watch his movies.. at least myself, I watched his next 3 movies first show hoping for a movie like dabangg.

Don't know if audience will accept him. To be honest he is not that good actor. Entertainer, yes but not a good actor. Shuddhi will be a real test of his acting skills.

Yes salman fans, he did awesome in Tere Naam, but thats pretty much it.

First of all...Salman has very loyal fans who stand with him through thick and thin...If they didn't leave him through bad times...why would they leave when he starts doing good movies...and secondly Salman will gain a lot of neutral audience who don't care about actors but are just the fans of good cinema...so it will be all for the better if he starts doing good movies.

I think audience would accept him in other genres, but question was would salman supporters stick with him were he todo other genres, imo yes !! Hid upcoming movies are other genres starting with sooraj, then kabir khans, then others he rumored to be in!!
