Pushed, pulled, dragged...she has had enough of being treated like a rag doll! Madhu snatches her hand away from Raja's tight grip and storms into Raja's room. A room that is nothing more than just a prison cell and she is just a mere prisoner. Raja sighs deeply, tired of his Rani's anger and stubbornness. He marches behind her and slams the door shut. Remembering his disastrous lack of control earlier in the day, he takes a moment to control his anger so he does not take it out on his Rani again. Once he has his temper under control, he turns around and faces Madhu's rigid back.
Raja (clears his throat and walks up to Madhu facing the open window): Raaaniii...(Holds her shoulders and turns her to face him) Look Rani I know you're upset about the incident downstairs. Jije should not have dared to even touch you, let alone try to force you to dance. And I punished him for his mistake. But why are you taking your anger out on me?
Madhu (shoves Raja's hands off her shoulders in anger): Yes your jije was wrong but (points a finger at Raja) are just as culpable for my humiliation at the party!
Raja: Arree yaaarrr. Rani you refused to attend the party so I carried you downstairs. What's wrong in that? Arre...my family threw the party for you in your honor...I couldn't let you insult them by exempting to attend. Just imagine how Tauji would have felt if the guest of honor also his bahurani thought it was beneath her to attend a party in her honor.
Rani (angrily): Did you and your family ever think about my feelings? How I would feel forced to go through rituals after rituals that are only designed to humiliate a woman?

Madhu (pushes his hands away again): Ohh so you think the things that are being done to Phalguni bhabi is right?!?
Raja pales as her words hit him like a punch in the gut. Deep down, he has always known that his Tauji and others have been wronging Phalguni bhabi. But he never had the audacity to question it and stand up against it on her behalf.
Madhu (grabs Raja's shoulders and shakes him): Tell me Raja...do you think what Tauji, Taiji...all of them are doing to Phalguni bhabi is right? Why do they think she is a curse, because she is a widow? Did she pull the trigger on her husband that they hold her responsible for his death? Huh? Answer me! Does she deserve to be treated like a servant? No she is treated worse than a servant...she is treated like an animal! Madhu (drops her hands): I expect you to think and act like a man instead of blindly following the pack. I expect you to stand up against the injustice against Phalguni bhabi. I expect you to not force me to participate in family functions and rituals that will do nothing but humiliate me further. I expect you to not whip out your gun, brandish it at your whim and threaten people, especially, your family all the time. You are nothing more than an angry, petulant boy. Manage one of these tasks first and then we'll talk.
