Quote : "The incumbent Chief Minister of Gujrat worked her way up and she was the natural choice Her predecessor worked his way up despite his not so secular outlook and past track record seemed to have been favoured by the nation .Not my choice though.
An other politician a reluctant scion of the powerful family with political career handled on a platter well less said the better."
Finally I agree with you fully and entirely on one thing. Current euphoria notwithstanding, your "not my choice" is also my "not my choice" and for reasons you have indicated. I can't so easily overlook the past.
Reluctant scion of a powerful family made a mess. Should BV say "any resemblance to real life is just a coincidence"? Of course BV being BV and BH being BH, Anandi will hand-hold him and ensure he is a success.
To make any more comparison between reel and real will probably invite censure from monitors.

But even BV has very carefully branded most of the things related to urban life bad and almost everything rural is good. A good PA leaves the job to go to village to do farming, a bad PA comes to job with ulterior motives and behaves like a cheap woman. A village girl, who goes to city and becomes negative discards village attire while another village girl goes to the city but sticks to same attire and no guess - she is a good woman.

Puja - Media should only give us the right information and news should be unbiased.
Journalists and media people may have first hand information but when they are giving that information to the public it should be free of bias so that the man sitting in front of the TV or reading news paper should be allowed to form his own opinion.
---------

Comiing to the show
I don't think they have shown every thing good about rural and everything good about urban

They have shown the atrocities that are comitted on women in the name of tradition in rural areas for every hard core traditionalist they have shown a liberal person

Same way they have shown Shiv who is from urban background and there is Jagya from rural background there is Lal Singh who was not embarrassed about his rural back ground there is Jagya who was embarrassed.
There is Ratan Singh who is epitome of all that is evil in Indian rural society
There are Kabras who epitomise urban hypocrisy and all things that are bad

Shekhars stand some where in between well Sanchi's behaviour is more due to her own stupidity combined with silly pride over small things. If there was Sanchi there was also Payal there was also Mahi and there was Ashima too.

They really described the problems faced by girls both from urban and rural society quite well.
Thye may have faltered when it came to offering solutions for those problems

Well migration to urban areas is a real problem in our country so somebody going back to his family in the village should be taken as a positive change IMO.
It is a truth that rural well being does contribute a lot to nation's well being

If they actually show the newly hatched neta working successfully or unsuccessfully on some of the problems that are causes for rural poverty resulting in migration it would be interesting to see too.

Women empowerment vis a vis Anandis empowerment and its portrayal by Balika Vadhu. - once upon a time and now .
When and how it actually happened ?

The first year, the balika vadhu has been introduced and her story / journey started...in her saasra.
The next two years - her love story started and her love ditched her.
In the midst of all these, the gritty girl she is , progressed from a teacher to a sarpanch. We cannot conveniently overlook the fact here, that 80 % , then also had been dedicated her personal life and only 20 % to her professional life, if we may give that title to her work.
The fourth year - start of another love story for her.
The fifth year - relocating to a city from a village , and since she cannot be a sarpanch anymore, she started an NGO. Again 80 % of the story dedicated to her personal life and rest to her profession.
And to begin with 2 homes to balance now...compared to one after her first marriage

So, where does the question arise that Anandi should be loved as a character then, and not now wrt both her personal nd professional dimensions ?

And how are the writers and makers of the show are neglecting her now, compared to then ?
Tthey are still maintaining the same pace wrt to Anandi as far as I can look back and see.

And apparently, they still have story to tell.

Rambling s of a BV lover, irrespective of faces, pairs and despite its 'n' no. Of bloopers, content and quality of the story and its preachings at the end of every episode.

Took liberty of posting a couple of posts in ths thread...as actually I loved the title of the thread and have been going through various inputs diligently...😊

My problem is with this only. They do not give us information in unbiased way. I never understood why media overlooks mistakes of some people while highlighting similar thing of other people to show they are bad. In every field - media seems to be promoting certain people while ignoring other people. For example - they highlighted Sachin's feats so much while equally great player like Dravid or Laxman were not given much importance. Media can mould people's opinion - it is not to say people cannot judge who is right and who is wrong - it is just that they are being fed a certain types of images constantly to influence their opinion.

Even I find this a big problem.
It is unrealistic expect media to be unbiased but wish they would keep the bias out when reporting and give their opinions later

-If you love the story/direction and can understand and support the CV's, putting aside all the crap they show.
-And lastly if you got so used to watch it and you keep coming to this forum out of plain habit.(like me😆, the forum is a weekly habit for now)

When you talk about women empowerment issues and when you ask why not Anandi?...you are not even understood here😆😆. Not a moral police, just saying what I felt after going through the whole thread briefly😳
