I remembered her role in Sarfarosh because I recognised her from that show Banegi Apni Baat one of my all time favourite shows.

In that she was such a soft spoken but firm and yet very mild mannered lady with three young daughters😊

There is so much difference in the way she portrayed that role in Banegi Apni Baat and the way she portrays Dadisa.

It seems like almost two different people instead of same actress doing different roles.

She truly is an actress India should be proud of.

Superb post, Thank you Aparna.

I admire her very much, not just in BV but from the days of Tamas, gem of a film, a must watch !
She had won the national award for the best supporting actress.
I was thrilled to see her in BV and thoroughly enjoyed watching Surekhaji taking us through the marvellous journey as Dadisa. Her effective dialogue delivery, precise Hindi pronunciation skills amongst many other qualities are simply unique. She is a school of acting and youngsters can learn a lot simply by watching her in BV.
