I got the idea for this topic from one of Shekhar Kapur's tweets- he thanked a person who said that inspite of superior technology and VFX today, his favourite sci-fi/superhero film is still Mr. India which was made a long time back.

Made me think that Bollywood doesn't really make a lot of movies in this genre, whereas if made right, these movies can go on to become big successes. From children to adults, everyone loves a good fantasy/sci-fi movie.

So which is your favourite such film? Any recommendations?

MR. INDIA!
The movie might not have had earth shattering special effects back then but it really defined the meaning of fantasy. Made me a part of the whole gang of children while watching it.
Mr. India over Ra One anyday! Superlative effects doesn't make a movie good, it's the story, which Mr. India had.

Two other movies I want to mention are Chota Chetan and Makkhi. Both the movies had very innovative concepts, especially Makkhi. However, their storylines could have been better.

Oh yea Makkhi! How did I forget this?! I watched it only a couple of months ago and It's the first SI movie I have watched! It was fabulous and pretty damned hilarious. 😆
