Hey guys.. I am sure you are surprised seeing this , even I am.. it's my first time, writing something, ever!! And I don't know why I wrote, but I just did.. so please bear me😉
Ohh.. this part is dedicated to (hehe.. abhi abhi start kiya and I start dedicating 😛) but seriously, I want to dedicate this part to all the lovelies of IF starting with deepkriti (my first IF friend n a very good lecturer😆), hima (coz she has loads of stress in her life...so may be this would help her to get rid off it a bit😃), nithi n debu (for giving the two most wonderful works on taarey), asha (living dictionary), raveena (for my favourite story WMWB) n all the other writers writing on taarey.

So here I present, you my first ever TS, or matter of fact, first piece of writing.

It had all started six months ago. Neha had noticed Swayam throwing furtive glances towards Sharon all through the lectures and practicals. Sharon had initially dismissed Neha's observation, but Neha had persisted; sure enough she had been right about her conjucture. Taani, who was Neha's childhood friend, was apprised of the same and she too had confirmed what Neha had surmised.
"Sharon, he is totally into you. Why else would he keep staring at you rather then the dead bodies during practicals? Besides even you like him, then what's the problem?"
"The problem is Rey, Taani. Swayam is a good friend of Rey and I'm very sure that he isn't taking the next step because he doesn't wasn't to spoil his n Rey's friendship. You know the unwritten rule which says that your friend's sister/brother is out of bounds. I think that's the reason why Swayam is hesistant."
"I have solution!" Taani squealed. "we can get him to confess on our graduation day! You know how alcohol makes a person reveal the truth. That night all the guys will get talli and then Swayam himself will say out loud what's in his mind. He wouldn't even bother about Rey's presence; to be on safer side, we'll give all three a heavy dose of alcohol so that no one remembers about the previous night's happenings the next day!"
"sounds perfect!" Neha chimed in. "now for our plan to be successful, we shall have to lace their drinks and remain sober ourselves, so no hard drinks for us. I'm so excited for graduation day!"
And so here they were. The girls were guzzling away diet coke while watching they boys get intoxicated slowly. The girls to inebriate Rey and Swayam; poor Vicky had just been caught in the middle. As they chatted about the ceremony held earlier that day, the slurring of the guys' speeches was evident. Each time a guy sipped from the bottle, Taani used to stifle back a laugh. Neha signaled Taani to keep quite lest the boys notice her behavior and figure out their gimmick. Soon enough, Swayam began pouring out his heart.

The girls weren't the only ones who had strategized for this day. Rey had a scheme of his too. For the past one and half year, he had been in love with this jhalli friend of this sister, Taani. She sure was a firebrand. A girl, who was happy-go-lucky, loved to crack jokes and had a temper that could even scare the bravest of the brave; it was the unique combination that made him loose his heart to her. As the five n half years of their medical schooling were coming to an end; Rey found himself in a dilemma. He had no idea if his feelings would be reciprocated. So should he be confessing his love when he could stand to lose their friendship? Or should he not say anything, knowing that after graduation they would go on separate ways? Finally Rey decided to seek a solution through their graduation night. He knew that girls never had a drop of liquor and tonight they would be hit hard. So he decided to make a move tonight itself. Once Taani was sloshed, he would tell her that he loved her; her reply would prompt his next step. If she agreed...all would be well; if she didn't he would blame all the proposal thing on her muddled state. Happy with his ground plan, he had arrived at Vicky's apartment for the booze fest, high on confidence.

"kaun kambakht bardaash karne ko peeta hai!" were the first words out of Swayam. "hum toh peete hai taaki tumhe dekh sake...tumhari muskurahat ko mehsoos kar sake...tumse yeh keh sake ki...ki..." and he collapsed on the ground. Sharon who was blushing at the beginning of the monologue screamed in alarm in seeing Swayam lose his balance. She rushed to his side and took his weight upon her shoulder. Swayam kept chanting something inaudible before finally dozing off.
"well that's a shame!" Neha exclaimed. "I bet if he could have gotten to complete the sentence it would have been in this way-
"kaun kambakht bardaash karne ko peeta hai! hum toh peete hai taaki tumhe dekh sake...tumhari muskurahat ko mehsoos kar sake...tumse yeh keh sake ki hum tumse mohabbat karte hai!"
"maybe! But now will never know." A visibly upset Sharon said. It took this huge amount of alcohol to make him talk...albeit an incomplete one. Tomorrow when he wakes up, even if he remembers having said anything, he won't be repeating because of Rey. Oh god! Will I remain unmarried throughout my life?"
"chill babes! We shall find some other way; you don't worry. What should we do now? Swayam is down, Vicky is dozing and looking at Rey it seems like he will be passing out soon. Lets chat for a while before retiring for the day", Neha suggested. Even as she said this, Rey stood up from his love seat. He kept on swaying, mumbling incoherently and started walking; one unsteady step at a time. Thinking this one too would need a help to go to bed, Sharon came forward and asked him to let her to take him to his resting place. But Rey merely brushed Sharon's hand aside and proceeded towards Taani.

When he approached her, Taani was flipping through her mobile. Rey sat on his knees in front of her recliner and took the mobile from her hands, placing it on the floor.
"Rey what's th..." But she stopped midway on seeing Rey's intense gaze. He merely held her hands in his and asked, "do you feel for me Taani?"
Taani's heart skipped a beat. What was Rey saying? She knew he wasn't in the right condition to make a sane conversation, but wasn't she the one who had insisted on the truth revealing power of alcohol? Did this mean that Rey loved her? No...she had never thought of him in that way; he was always Sharon's brother for her. Or was she reasoning the same way as Swayam did with Sharon? Had she repressed this thought because she didn't wanted to endanger her friendship with Sharon? So many questions were arising in her mind and she couldn't answer even one of them; not when Rey still had her hands enveloped in his.
Rey had lost his senses, for this wasn't how he had decided on confessing about his feelings to Taani. Of course, he had poured through countless love quotes and shayaris to prepare fpr the proposal, but when the time came for using them none of them came out instead his own medical proposals-
Taani, you make make me have premature ventricular contractions. (you make my heart skip a beat)
I get tachycardia when I'm around you. (you make my heart race)
Sometimes I wonder that are you a cardiothoracic surgeon!! You must have done a cardiectomy on my heart (you have stolen my heart)
When I m near you, my oxytocin levels rise up n I wish I were DNA helicase so that I could unzip your genes
The words had made Neha and Sharon rooted to their stop, their mouths wide open with surprise; Sharon who was dumbfounded, for never in her dream had expected her brother to say these words. Neha merely exclaimed "wow, how romantic!"
But Tanni wasn't aware of any of these words. She was just lost in the actually meaning of the four lines and the person who had uttered them. Had he actually said this? Taani's heart beat had jumped to twice its rate. But before she could respond to him in any way she was yanked up from her seat and into his arms. She started swaying along with him completely under his control since he still held on to her. The stupefaction of being pulled onto him was just receding when she got another shock of her life when Rey started singing-
"humein tumse pyaar kitna, yeh hum nahi jaante,
Magar jee nahi sakte...tumhare bina!"
That was the limit. Neha and Sharon burst into laughter with Taani trying to figure out what she had just listened. Sure he had sung a hindi movie song, but why this one? He knew that she loved this song; she had told him herself. But all these questions were futile. She would have to wait until morning to get answers for the same. As if on cue, Rey went limp n keeled over. Now it was three down.
"whoa, Rey's heavy. Let him sleep on this recliner; it's not possible to carry him to his bed." Neha said.
After having settled him, the duo turned back to Taani. "So", Neha said, "this evening wasn't completely wasted. We got atleast one confession."
Sharon too joined in her banter and began to tickle Taani. "tell me Taani...or wait, should I call you bhabhi?"😆
The words made Taani's cheeks turn into bright shade of red but she composed herself and said, "guys, don't make a big deal out of this. Rey said a few things which he may not even remember by tomorrow. So stop all this and lets go to sleep. "saying this she gave a big yawn and went to the room where Vicky had arranged extra bedding for girls.
"so wind blows in both directions!" Sharon whispered to Neha. "I hope Rey doesn't forget all that he said tonight."

Next morning.
It was 9.00 a.m. when Rey opened his eyes. Apart from being a bit groggy from last night, everything else was functioning well. His eyes roamed across the room and he noticed that girls were up and around. Seeing that Rey had woken up, Neha nudged Sharon and the two went to him.
"so Rey...you want to be DNA helicase n all huh...I didn't knew you think all these also"😉
Shit! Had he actually said something stupid? He had to talk to Taani right now. "where's Taani?"
"yeah..yeah, now why will you want to talk to us? All that matters is Taani, Isn't it? Neha said. "haan Rey", Sharon chimed in, "tum toh chupe rustom nikle. Apni behen se bhi chupaya?"
Here he was in an ultimate panic mode and these girls were hell bent on pulling his leg. Muttering an "I'll deal with you later" he rushed off to find Taani.
Taani was experiencing mixed emotions. All through the night, sleep had eluded her. Her thoughts had been stationed on Rey. In the wee hours of the night, she had finally accepted that she too loved him. Now that a part of the problem was solved, she had to look for the other half of it.
Rey found Taani lost in her thoughts; her eyes possessing that faraway look. "Taani!" at the sound of his voice, Taani turned towards him. His eyes didn't give away anything and hence Taani resignedly began saying, "I know you regret saying things last night Rey. I understand that you weren't in the right frame of mind; don't worry I won't hold anything against you. We are friends and will always remain so."
Rey merely smiled at this and said, "is this why you think I came to talk to you?"
"of course!" a befuddled Taani replied. "Why else would you? People say all sorts of things in inebriated state and one shouldn't pay attention to them."
"you are right. How about I say them now, when I am sober?"
Oh my god! Was e going to say what she was desperately waiting to hear? Taani's heart beats had resumed their erratic dance once again.
Seeing that he wasn't going to get any reply from her he said, "Look I might have seemed like a stupid yesterday, but you and I both know that I'm not good with words. So here's what I wished to say-
"I'm just a guy standing in front of a girl, asking to be loved by her.
I love you Taani...will you be mine?"
Taani could only blush at this. How could she tell him that however less the words be, they had a monumental effect over her? When she saw the look of anticipation on Rey's face, she smiled shyly and said "I love you too Rey!"
Hearing this, Rey's face broke into a grin. As he enveloped Taani into a long awaited hug, Neha and Sharon's cheers and wolf whistles echoed through the background.
