I had the great displeasure of actually watching 19ths video finally (the first part at the moment).

What utter rubbish. Himesh Reshammiya was spouting pure nonsense through out the show.
Forget right or wrong ... his biggest mistakes lay in raising his voice at all and then raising his voice at Ashatai. I'm ignoring the fact that they are both singers who had their opinions and I'm talking about the absolute lack of respect he showed towards and elder lady. Absolute kudos to her for remaining cool and not giving it back to him.. much as he deserved it.
I have absolutely NO respect for the man anymore and only the utmost admiration for Ashatai.
My anger over that point over.. let's move to his actual speech. Will someone kindly remind Himesh Reshammiya of a few key facts - Mussarat too is from Pakistan, and if by some stroke of sheer dumb luck he wins this contest, he will be returning to Pakistan. Don't delude yourself into thinking that he'll stay back here.. forget opportunities in Bollywood, there are political issues that factor in as well. Secondly, it is unwise to "diss" so many singers - well established, flourishing singers who are also your competition. It's unwise on both a professional and a personal front. Thirdly, you are in public and must behave appropriately. Historonics, yelling, shouting, always disagreeing and throwing down your mic is not endearing you to anyone. Last but not least, the objective of this show is not to ensure "roti" in anyone's home. It is to hone each participants skills as a singer. Looks like we've found our next Vinit though... once again, hell with the other members of your gharana, it's gonna be all Mussarat. I pity the rest!
And man would Mussarat have done so much better with VS. At least they wouldn't doubt his ability to experiment with other genres. They would encourage him to take risks and challenges.. which is one of the best ways to grow, learn and develop. And wow! Mussarat's "Gulabi Aankhein" was 10 times better than his RFAK song. 10 kya, 20 times 😆 His pitch, scale range and sur was better suited to the song and he did a good job of it. That he was able to sing this song well doesn't imply that he will spend the rest of his life "copying" Rafi saab. It shows that he is a better singer in this style of singing ... something that will open up more doors to him. Interesting that the very point HR argues with this song, is also the very point he endorses with Mussarat copying RFAK's style. 😆
And yes.. Ashatai has been requested to come on as Maha Guru. If the mentors aren't able to stomach that, they should have a word with the director and producer instead of making it an issue on stage.
Overall...the drama generated by HR and even Bappida in regards to Mussarat's roti and Ashatai's request, resepectively, was just 🤢 Vishal too instigated some points, but for the most part, if you listen to what he's actually trying to convey.. his points are valid. He's trying to develop growth in the participants and that's appluadible.
