During the mentors' introduction, VS said 'hit it' three times...kind of reminded me of hip hip hurray 😆

Aditya's performance was really nice...its so cute how he gestures with his hands even while singing 😳 😆

I liked Harpreet 👏 He has a nice voice and I like the song too 😛 Mauli was good but not as great as I expected her to be 😔 She's a good performer though 👍🏼

Poonam was awesome 👏Gaurav was okay 😛

I liked Mussarat's performance - song and singing!! JDD is one of my favorite songs and he sang it really well 😳 He sang the song in his own style 😛

Too tired...will watch the 2nd half tomorrow! Loved Asha ji and her cold shoulder towards Himesh 😆

Lovely topic, and yes, overall I think this wk's performances were slightly better so far than last week's, let's hope for some better ones coming today too!! 😊

About the contestants... Liked Poonam, Junaid a bit, Mussurat a bit as well.. Poonam was quite good actually, she has nice dum in her voice and yes lots of improvement from last time... I really quite liked Junaid except he doesn't have much dum and he's quite nasal, but he was pretty good..!! Mussurat, I liked him, his voice is really nice but he was good in the high keys, not when he went low..

Amrita, Saberi, really thought they were not very good. Especially Amrita, very out of sur and hope she does better today.. Mauli did just oky, it was a bit shaky, hmm want to see if she can sing a diff kind of song next time... Desh Gaurav was ok but went out of sur at times, now am I forgetting any contestant?

Himesh picked Tusshar instead of Sayan!!! 😭 😭 But that's fine, I want Sayan to be in another Gharana anyway to spare him the drama..

Which brings me to that. What was the need for all that happened? Now, I am starting to think tht Himesh on purpose is picking somebody's comment and going against it. It almost seemed that he thinks that now apparently he is a hit and now can say what he wants. And what is this abt no versatility?? 😕 You yourself do not have faith in the contestant to sing diff songs, is that right...?? Asha ji, felt she was really humble and hmm, she did reply to HR but good thing is that she does not like to fight and it shows...

I missed Harpreet's performance apparently it was good, that's what most judges said and all of yu too are saying! Will watch the rpt to hear it..

All in all, not a bad episode, ohh how i wish to have no problems in atleast one!! 😊

this week episode was much better than last week one.
I love Ashaji as the judge, I hope she stays on for a while.
I liked Harpreet performance but then most judges didnt liked it, and i like what ashaji had to say for him, and finally he got the green light.
other female who got the green light, i think she sang the best in the lot. cant wait to see what will happen tomorrow. looking fwd to.

Much better episode, and less drama

aditya's performance was okay

Ashaji is a neat judge, who points out the weakness in each contestant in a very encouraging way, and speaks very respectfully and seems very humble

Thought poonam, harpreet, mualidave, junaid were the better singers in that order

hope mdave gets green tomorrow, as she is from my home town Texas 😛

poonam sounded so much like ashaji, wonderful performance

Pity the troop under HR, wish he can chill and focus on guiding them like the other mentors

overall a better episode

Today's show was much better from a singing point of view. Drama also went up a notch higher. It's all starting to heat up now.

Among the guys, the competition is very tight. Harpreet sang fabulously. He has a lot of depth in his voice, and was almost flawless with the changes and flow of the song. The song itself is tough, but if you manage to sing it well, you can be sure of going through. I predicted he would get the green light even before hearing the others. Junaid was good - sur slipped a couple of places, but his voice is nice, and the talent is visible. Desh Gaurav didn't impress too much - but again, the song itself was tough, with all the harkatein, which he didn't quite get right. Musarrat has a great voice, and is a bundle of talent. But I feel he wasn't quite right with the mukhda - 'jiya dhadak dhadak' is supposed to be sung 3 times in the same breath, but he was breaking it up - it seemed like lack of breath control. But like the judges said, the antra was amazing, and on any other day, he would have gone through. As for his singing the same genre, I believe as long as he doesn't sing the exact same song, no one should have a problem with it. And it's not like he's sung 10 songs of RFAK. It's just 2 so far.

Poonam was amazing with the song. I remember Twinkle's version - I'm not going to worry about who better, but for a first performance, this was excellent. She has a great voice modulation and control - something I'd noted when I heard her sing Babuji in the intro episode (I very much enjoyed that performance too). As far as non-singing attributes go, she's got funny hair, but a cute face - I think I like her 😳. Mauli was okay, she didn't disgrace herself, but she wasn't good enough to go through either. And how tall is she!! She's even taller than Harpreet, who is a tall guy himself! 😕 I didn't realize this the first time I saw her, but this girl's a giraffe! Saberi's performance seemed a little over the top - and it didn't really touch me. Amrita chose a nice song, and sang well sur and taal-wise, but there was something missing - it seemed a little bland.

Bappi da was as usual quiet. Even his lines to contestants were the usual mehnat karo etc. Vishal again picked on another mentor's singer. I feel he doesn't need to lecture someone else's shishya on choice of song. I sense he's a little insecure, as he doesn't have that one fabulous performer that the other gharanas have. But at least he was decent enough not to answer back to Himesh. Shekhar seemed to be neglected today. The only time he spoke was when critiquing his own contestants. Ismail had another good day with his girl being the best performer of the day, and Himesh showering him with praises. Even based on the AV it seems that he spends a lot of time training his shishyas, which shows in their performances. Aur kya, waise bhi he's free nowdays 😆. Himesh, on the other hand, can't spare as much time for his shishyas. But at least he backs them to the hilt. I have no problem with his statement that there's no point being a jack-of-all-trades and master-of-none. Everyone needs to have their unique selling point, and Musarrat has it, and there's nothing wrong with exploiting it. But what surprised me was him saying that he doesn't have confidence in Musarrat singing other songs. He's gone from being overconfident in C2005 (remember Vinit and 20 20 20?) to underconfident in C2007. Himesh is a mystery we won't be able to solve even after C2007 is over. 😆

Asha ji is also an interesting package. Her credentials and value as a judge have been talked about even last week, so I won't go into those again. This time she had a solid back-and-forth with Himesh, with Himesh not content with letting her have the last word this time, but she grabbing it nonetheless 😆. She didn't leave the other mentors either, mentioning that none of them could understand that Amrita sang well, but it was simply an issue of akar and ekar (didn't quite get what it means - can someone clarify). She also went into a detailed discussion of nasal singing where the camera kept panning at Himesh 😆. The highlight of the day, however, was 'THE MOVE' - she looked in the direction of Himesh, stuck her nose up, and turned away. Trust Zee to show it twice for added effect 😉

It's a good thing Ghulam Ali saab wasn't here. As it is, he was getting wasted in this all-Asha show (and using up precious minutes).

Aditya was Aditya. I've gotten so used to him now I'd feel wierd if Shaan turned up to host one day instead. Although I'd suggest that he not stand next to Mauli (no one should stand next to Mauli, for that matter).

And some comments on the selected Eklavyas. Bappi da chose Sumedha - most people would have expected him to pick Sumana, but I have no problem with Sumedha. The girls aren't singing as well as the guys anyway, so I might as well enjoy some eye candy 😛. Himesh chose Tushar - as for the reasons, I think Ismail hit the nail on the head 😉.

All in all, an entertaining show. And if promos are any indication, tomorrow is bound to be even more explosive! I recommend that people in India go buy 1 year's stock of flour today itself. Because after tomorrow, roti prices are going to go over the roof! 😉😆

Overall the SRGMP 2007 is extremely dissapointing. I expected phenomenal talent, after the first season. I miss Shaan, and where are all the amazing singers???? 😔

This week show featured 5 of the top 10 contestants in the program..So the standard of the singing was better..Mauly gave a good performance but no way near the first one and her singing was average ..will be singing again tomorrow..Musarrat was good..Harpreet really gave a soul stirring performance..The surprize package was great performance by Poonam..Asha ji very rightly gave green cards to the two deserving singers Harpreet and poonam..Asha ji really acted like a principal and the mentors looked like obedient teachers.Ghulam Ali ji was absent probably because he selected the 4 pakistani singers from pakistan and judging two of those Pakistani singers would have been a conflict of interest..

Himesh has mastered the art of creating conflicts and trying to get the lime light or this all is scripted..Agreed with his view that any singer to be successful today need to be excellent in at least one genre and "jack of all and master of none singers" will be sitting at home..Asha ji stressed on the need to be versatile cuz if one genre fades the singer is out of work..Asha ji wanted the contestants to sing variety of songs..Himesh would like Mussarat to sing only in one genre in which he seems to have no match in this group of contestants and would want him to win the competition..Himesh chose a contestant from Silchar Assam Ekalvya gharana ...

Watching Voice of India again came to realization How good Shaan is..Aditya is making good progress but has very big shoes to fill ..If Shaan is a big attraction in VOI than Aasha ji was the most attractive personality to watch on Zee TV..

The masala portion of the show has been mainly provided by Himesh..Bhappida stays quiet..VS says their own things but not get entangled..Ismail has been maintaining his neutral judgements so far..Asha ji set things straight with himesh..

Will add here about tomorrow's show..

I like all the performances today. They were all much better than last weeks performance.

I really hope HR would cut down on the drama.

Allright quickly about the review - The singers have improved drastically.. Got to hear some good performance by Poonam, Musarrat and Harpreet.. But still not upto the singers of C2005.. They were far ahead of these singers.. Anyways, as they are improving, maybe we will get to listen to some good voices and good performance..

About the roti drama - I have nothing to say but just to laugh at these people making the drama.. the MDs and Ashaji fighting, Ashaji trying to prove she is superior by saying "she is the judge and no one can disagree to her" - all makes me just laugh thinking - "Kab badlenge Log" 😆 Now im used to all these dramas, so dont care much about it.. Im just watching it for the songs, the singers.. so, let me stick on to it and ignore what i dont like.. But must say - both had their own points to prove and they are correct in their own point of view.. each of us have it and dont we try to prove it.. thats wat happens here also.. 😊 Just that they are going overboard..

I want to see more connection between the host and contestants and also the audience..

Rest, things were fine.. A decent show..

for a 2nd week, i thought the show standard was pretty bad. i liked junaid the most, harpeet a close second and desh gaurav third best. i did find junaid's singing nasal but there was pathos in his singing. maybe it's more the song but whatever, he grabbed my attention. i found desh gaurav's voice soothing though harpreet was perhaps technically more brilliant. the girls, including poonam, were just so-so in terms of their singing. molly looked like hell, seems she's not enjoying the heat out there. she shld have spent time on those equatorial beaches before going down to india for the summer. 😉

on content i felt that both HR and asha had valid points- HR had the career advice, whereas she was more about grooming the talent. made sense from their perspective, though HR's would probably have to take a back-seat in a talent hunt. also, he needs to work on his style imo. as long as u have a judge, gotta respect their opinion. cant cut them off mid-sentence like he did with asha. seems to also take any criticism of his participants too personally. looks like he has a big chip on his shoulder, much like another lil four-footer napolean. 😉

overall, mediocre show.
