Each time I cannot help but feel they are only showering compassion on Amol that too because Anandi wanted to adopt him. They do not seem to have accepted him as a son from their hearts.
When Amol got kidnapped, only Anandi was thinking about him. Others were thinking more about how upset Anandi was and whether she had eaten or not! I remember initially we felt that reactions of rest of Shekhars were too thanda for such a serious occurrence.
Shiv always looks smitten with Anandi and seems to observe more of her reactions when they all are with Amol, than bond with Amol himself. The only scene where I really felt he was like a father to Amol was when he gave that remote controlled toy car to him seeing how upset he was when he was unable to play with other toys due to his disability.
It did not feel romantic, rather seemed unfair to the child as Amol kept speaking and AnSh were all oblivious to everything, simply lost into each others' eyes. Would they have behaved like this if they were on an outing withntheir biological kid?
Even now, Shiv was saying yes to Anandi to pick up Amol from school, rather than agree to pick him up because he was responsible as his father. Surprising that he completely forgot about all this and could not even inform Anandi again that he could not pick up Amol or call someone else from family to do the job. Such negligence even after Amol had recently been victim of kidnapping by beggar mafia?😲
Their reactions to DB's behaviour towards Amol are also thanda. I doubt if Shekhars or Shiv would have remained silent if it was their own kid. They have spoken up for Anandi once or twice but not as much for Amol.
What kind of acceptance is this?
In contrast I feel Singhs treated Mannu much better (except for times Sumitra was rude to him due to Sanchi).
Shekhars seem more like benefactors of Amol than family. And seem to be nice to him for sake of Anandi!
Their involvement and connect with Amol is thanda.
