Manveer OS ~ Day of Love

Manyata stood there completely frozen and dazed, the words kept repeating in her mind all over again. She could feel tears swelling up in her eyes; before it was too late she turned her face to at least protect her from this humiliation as he looked directly into her blankly and said in a very formal tone.

"I am sorry Manyata ...Please do not cry, it is not end but a beginning and I assure that we will always be friends"

She did not look at her, she did not want to look at his disgusted face, she did not want to remember him this way, she tried speaking but soft sobs escaped but fighting it she finally said it

"I do not need your consolation prize Akash, just leaving with you a advice you will soon catch a cold from the ice within your soul"

This was the last words before she ran away into the showering streets as her body was completely drenched by the rain drops, she kept running without any specific destination, without anyone to comfort her broken heart, her legs felt weak as she sat down on the parapet, watching the crowd of cars in the street. She opened up her find and cried her heart out; people came and walked by no one stopped to heal the poor soul. After she felt that her heart sorrow was overflow with tears, she sat there watching the cars rushing up and down the street. She did not know what was she supposed to do, she felt it was the end of everything, she wanted it to be the end of everything but someone was stopping her, it was her little five year old son, Samar. Manyata could not abandoned him, after knowing his intense love for his mother. She was completely helpless as she sat letting the rain drench her body completely, as she recalled all the events that took place in the past.

" Manyata wanted to be a writer but was married to an invest banker who happened to be her fathers best friend son. He was handsome but his personality appealed dull and boring to her, everything to him was a deal and romance was not in his dictionary. But compelled by her family she was forced to be married to him. Their life moved smoothly there was nothing special they just shared physical relation, there was no romance in their marriage. Her husband was always busy which lead Manyata to go under depression; she did not have anyone to open up her mind too. Even during anniversary they just bought each other gift, they never exchanged the three magical words also. After two years Manyata got pregnant with her first child, that was the only one time when she felt her husband a little close to her, but after Samar was born everything was back in the old times. Now before three months she met Akash, the IT student who stayed as a Pg near their house. With normal conversation and sometimes casual flirting she felt herself drawing closer to him. She found the romance in him that she missed in her husband; soon their relation grew even stronger he made promises and she believed it not knowing that it was a trick to gain her body. After his wish was fulfilled he left her like some thrash"

The pain started regaining her heart as she stood up and walked aimlessly towards her house. As she opened the building gates she felt something sheltering her from the rain. She looked up it was a pink umbrella with white dots on it, and the person holding on to it was her husband who himself was getting drenched. Her eyes was plastered down, she could not face him for the grave mistakes that she had committed she knew what was on her way DIVORCE. If she wanted she could cheat him and keep it a secret but she did not want her son to known her as a traitor. They almost reached the door but they did not enter as she heard him say in his usual firm voice

"Samar have locked it and went out to his friends house, I am not being able to find my spare keys so I think we will have to wait here"

She nodded her head and sat down as he accompanied her. She looked at the water dripping from the roof as she said without giving it a much thought

"Life can be so unfair at times, just when we think the scars will heal the love is again torn apart"

He looked at her, as she paused her eyes down and said in an apologetic tone

"I am sorry this rain got me reminded of a scene"

"Yes! But ...how do you know?"

She looked completely puzzled as he rubbed his hands and said

"I too am a human after all and after the busy schedule her writing gives me peace"

She shook her head and looked back into the water as he continued

"I thought even you loved to write I eventually married you so that I could publish your book and then survive on your money" {He joked and continued with a smile}

"But you never mentioned to write any novel"

She was taken aback she did not even know that he supported her ambition, she began to realize that at the end of their relation they were getting to know each other, which hurt her as she was going to lose a man like him. Now even she wanted to confess everything

"I thought you would not like it ... I mean you are an invest banker I thought it would be rather humiliating for you if your wife goes writing novels"

"Huh I guess I got backwardness theory of my wife as dowry"

He looked at her passionately maybe this was the first time she felt his gaze on her this way and said

"You are my wife if I do not understand then who will Manyata?"

She looked at him shocked as tears welled in her eyes and said

"I thought I was more like a duty on you and ..."

"Duty...Manyata you are my wife, my life, the reason why I am still breathing to me you and Samar are everything"

"But you never expressed it to us ... I mean"

She regretted the very next moment her worlds as she tried to rectify her sentenced but he continued

"I love you ...three words can never express my love for you, I do not know how to impress you, but I definitely know how to protect and take care of you, I may be busy whole day without even stopping to stare at you but since marriage the only thing I have been working for is collecting money for your novel...I may not say but it always killed me to watch you with Akash knowing the result will be I knew he was a jerk but I allowed him in your life as he placed the smile on your face that I could not do in this five years. Manyata if you want to live me I will not stop you and neither am I saying all this to stop you but all I want is that you should know your husband REALLY LOVED YOU"

Tears swelled down both eyes, she looked at him crying and it killed her inside as she mumbled in middle of the soft sobs

"You knew about Akash"

"Yes since the very first day"

"How could you forgive me?"

"You were not a fault..."

Manyata did not have anything to say, she could not believe that how big fool she had been as she asked him softly

"Do you still love me after everything that I did to you?"

"I love you more than myself I can never hate you Manyata"

The was the last words spoken by her husband as she slammed her lips on his and they were lost in the most passionate kiss, as she realized the depth of his love.

After 1 year

"I WANT TO DIVORCE YOU" screamed Manyata at her husband who stood smirking at her helplessness, this was the third time she was trying out a dress but the budge in her belly did not allow this on, getting frustrated she threw the dress away and sat with a thump her eyes swelled with tears as she said

"I hate you for getting me pregnant again. Now what will I wear for the grand opening?"

He knew that this was a part of her mood swing, she had not being like this even during Samars time, at a point he enjoyed teasing her. Today the was the opening of her novel which a famous publisher was going to publish, there was already a great buzz about it even he loved her story as it was not about some cheesy lover boy or some engrossed in reality tragic but it was just natural the way someone would find their hero, the way she did, it was the story of them. But now that tears was going to fall off his wife yes he sat by her side, taking her hand in his and said warmly

"Don't worry you will look great in anything that you wear? Cause to me you attire does not matter but the heart that you have which is the most beautiful feature of your body"

She looked at him keeping her head on his shoulder with a smile of peace and said

"I love you Uday"

"I love you too Manyata"

"I love you both" screamed Samar and scooped his body on Uday lap as they busted into laughter.
