1. They expect their audience to know better and not take fiction seriously
Or
2. They aren't held to higher standards because the audience doesn't demand or ask for better writing and story telling.

The makers or channel will never want their audience to know better Pri. Its like the Government will never want a 100% literacy rate, for that would expose them for what they are.

But TRP audience does reject bad story telling. QH 1 has had enough proof of it.

But its a sad state of affairs, coz, before all this channel war began, Doordarshan aired some of the best serials. None, of the current lot can even touch those in terms of story, execution or acting.

When everything from newsreports to live interviews to matches are fixed, serials are the last place to look for social changes. TV industry, I guess is bigger than bollywood in terms of money.
So, its all only about money. Who cares a damn for quality of user satisfaction? Customer is definitely not the king in this part of the world.

Wondering where you were. Was missing your Qs.

I lost interest in the show, as you know I don't like predictable stories, therefore, I was quiet but Sanam outraged me yesterday to write this post when she was mouthing all the great dialogues except saying she would file a complaint with cops.

Add mine to the list:
Why did Sanam sign without reading the papers?
She was shy and busy ogling Anwar and moreover she trusts her fianc. Unlike Zoya, Sanam acknowledged her mistake and promised to herself to not repeat it.

Why can't ladies go to bank to get loans?
May be she is tired of responsibilities and felt like taking a back seat and relax and for the first time feel what it is to be taken care by a loved one 😳.

Why do you still look for logic in daily soaps?
That's the entertainment I am deriving from QH2 as they have nothing else to offer story wise 😆.

Not reporting to police is a trait Sanam has got in virasat from Asad. Did Asad ever report any of Billi's crime to police?
Even Zoya never reported to cops and never even mentioned to Asad about some of the murder attempts, Sanam is doomed by genes of both parents.

Went thru the replies and opinion in this thread.
There's a reason TV is called the Idiot box. Don't think either the channels nor the makers have the social cause as their main agenda. Well, CSR is just now making its presence felt in the corporate world, it will take time for it to seep into the TV industry.
Censor board main priority should be curbing the senseless violence and regressive story lines that encourage violence against women with no repercussions, a bit of kiss and steamy scenes are less dangerous than regressive thinking being imparted by TV via its content.

Will have to watch DD one day and find out what content is run on the GOvt. run channes.

The impact of TV as well as social media ..its content is the subject of a research I am involved in .My visits here are primarily connected to my field of work. I am happy to see someone take a serious view as well and understand that just because it is a soap it must be allowed to depict inanity. Entertainment can be tweaked effectively with very little effort to be more realistic. I do not buy the logic that serials should get by showing our society as regressive.
Several points being made in this forum by viewers are pertinent.Crimes should be reported and no one should be shown as settling scores by themselves ...at least an FIR should be lodged. Wrong msgs are being sent out to millions of watchers. Male lead burns an entire Dhaba ...that in itself is shocking. Worse is the female lead who is righteous retaliate by setting a car on fire.
I also read another comment with regard to the same incident in the show...Ahil making a sexual threat ..gaal par.thappad ka jawab will be a kiss on the lips !! Not acceptable !

I think the CV's want to stress the fact that Sanam is a strong girl and does'nt break under the circumstances.Of course they can show that she made a police complaint againt A nwar.
In QH 1 tanveer committed five murders but was not punished.
Yes tv can teach lessons.and they should considering the fact that millions of people watch these programmes.

Lol, I am getting the 70s feel of hindi cinema already.

Between do watch Saubhagyavati bhava, I didn't find anything miss in the show so far, locales are beautiful ( Manali, need to check it out on my next visit to India), KVB is outstanding, lead lady is a conventional beauty with good acting, elegant dressing and make up. Supporting cast is good too and trust me scenes were so intelligently executed with out any unwanted crap, I could relate to what each character is going through and why they are doing what they are doing, didn't find any character acting out stupid at least in the episodes I watched. It was a treat to watch after what we were dished out lately by QH.

Wonder how Saubhagyavati bhava did TRP wise, hope it did well otherwise I would be surprised by taste of Indian audience.

How did sanam purchase the land in the first place? She does'nt know english has been brought up ina village. It is strange dilshad did'nt teach her.
Anyway she trusted Anwar blindly and paid for it.She did'nt even accompany anwar.Maybe the makers wanted to show that women should'nt tust men blindly.
she can't make a complaint bcoz she signed the sale deed of the dhaba herself without realising what it was.
even now there are lots of educated working women whose husbands handle all the finances and the women simply sign on the dotted line.it is standard practice
