The moment Rudra was gone, Paro went under a panic attack, a frozen state and the whole world appeared cold, cruel. He came running to her, life returned to her and she ran to him , exploding into his body - shivering , trembling , palpitating . The way she holds on to his collar and puts her face forward , you can see how the shivering little canary wanted to hide inside him. He tried to pull away but she didn't let him. She was still under a panic attack that he will disappear if she leaves him. Life was restored to her only when Rudra took her back into the comfort zone, telling the cruel world to back off.
The moment Rudra told Paro that she should avoid coming to the party, she agreed. The moment she saw Rudra all decked up, she checked him out but backed off. Whatever Rudra said registered with her like it does with a battery operated doll that has a fed in artificial memory. If he said its sunrise even before the break of dawn , it is sunrise for Paro.
The most telling moment comes during the dance when a passionate , intense and whirlwind -like Rudra tells Paro to surrender herself to him. Her every move, every step, every movement follows Rudra - leaving the leisurely summerfield girly innocence behind and surrendering to the passion and storm that Rudra is. She goes where Rudra goes - she does not understand the fatal attraction of her husband towards her which is so visible in his touch , his handling of her and his eyes - but she responds and surrenders because he is leading her and she cannot fall out of line. Rudra's passion as a man is too stormy and Heathcliff-ish and Paro is too fragile. But she goes with him wherever he takes her. Rudra asked for a surrender and she surrendered. The dance was a sneak peek into how Paro's life will be once engulfed by Rudra's love. He is driven by passion and heightened emotions - Paro has to get in sync with that. Look at Rudra place Paro's hands on his body, part her legs with his feet and pull her body closer with a jerk. Now, you know what am talking about if you are out of kindergarten.
The Pied Piper... we all remember that story, don't we? The man with the magical music that demanded complete surrender and anyone who heard him play followed him. Followed him in such a way that they never came back. Paro is following Rudra just like that - mesmerized and ensnared by him ... and you only wish that Rudra's music is the music of love, the soulmate love.
Oh, and I am so sorry for mentioning this as a 'syndrome'. Cynical world tries to attach logic to all emotions , so am just being fashionable.
P.S- Special applause to the dance. The actors were in perfect sync with each-other. Not a single moment of either of them being out of line. Steps, emotions, lead, follow - CHECK. Rudra's passionate attraction frustration and Paro's confused surrender came out perfectly. The dance looked like a work of professionals who are pros at dancing. Awesome blossom , specially because the passion was not rushed - the important moments were paused to register with the audience. Good job by the director.
