Dearest Vicki, I know you are not here as it is page 18 (congrats by the way!) but long-time silent fan of your posts and finally have a chance to post so I'm going to take it. Hope you don't mind! Warning though, it's 2am over here so my words may end up making no sense whatsoever...
That moment! Good lord that moment when they saw each other across the hallway and ran to each other. So damn good. She ran to him because she needed him. And tellingly enough he ran to her because he knew she needed him. The way she almost buried herself within his embrace and remained there all the way to the room. It was her safe place. And even when she calmed down enough to let him go, she still didn't want him to leave his sight. Again something he understood instinctively. He may be slightly awkward when it comes to soothing her or trying to make her comfortable via teas and remaining upstairs but he responds naturally to her unspoken needs. In this case, she is the piper playing a tune only he can seem to hear...
As for the dance, I absolutely loved how much was conveyed about these characters, their relationship both current and future through it. Just brilliant work by the whole team but especially the leads. Bravo! Seriously the first time I've come across a male lead looking like he is about to absolutely consume the female lead and it is only the fact that they are in public that is barely restraining him.
Her overwhelming feelings of doubt and hesitancy that were urging her to run far away simply withered into pitiful whelps simply because he looked at her and asked her to trust him. And even when they threatened to resurface, his touch and guidance steadied her footsteps. She was caught up in the whirlwind that is him. But she didn't pull away and nor did she turn away. Even when it got too much, she simply closed her eyes and waited for him to decide the next step. Wherever he leads she follows. Something that he's slowly figuring out too...
All done 😊
