This film is only success in plexes, outside it is disaster, so whichever earning it is making is coming from that specific area.
So!!?? Its at end of day about collections, and money earned! People will not talk about multiplex colelction of single screen collection... But overall collection

When u create such hype as movie is so good, it helps this kind of movie 2 earn little bit more than what it would have earned without it.
That I agree but there was hype around Gunday and also more than 2 States but it comparatively (as clearly visible) earned less

When i am denying from the facts which i said in that thread? That thread was made coz Awards ignored the biggest grossers of 2013.

In that thread or anywhere else, i always said as if a film is running well on BO, makes good money, it is loved by large set of audience.

I NEVER SAID that i will always love that film which is high on BOX OFFICE NUMBER. Kindly understand the difference.

Here i am saying as i don't like 2 states, my personal view about this film, also i gave reasons for what possible reason it is earning so much... i am not saying IT HASN"T EARNED or IT SHOULDN't EARN... Meri choice se kuch farak thodi na padega.

2 States movie comes in specific segment of audience, which are majorly from plex zone. Similar kind of films are Queen, Shahid, Lunchbox, Madras Cafe. 2 states has urban feel, a romantic love story, no Masala songs, No Masala action.

Even the music of 2 states is disappointing, very less success, now this film was surviving on WOM only. i stated earlier as Social Media helped. How? From thursday onwards, after the preview of 2 States, positive WOM floated all over internet like 2 states is very good film which comes for this kind of films.

Now 2 states was helped by Good friday holiday on 1st day, You will see immense positive response for this kind of films from social media very fast as compared to a masala comdey or action films.

This positive WOM hype helped 2 states to earn at least 5-6 crore, which gave him edge over those films. This is the game only.

there is no specific formula for success or failure these days

if dharma is being labelled as a reason for its success- wake up!

same dharma with bigger stars gave a 14 crores dud some months ago despite decent reviews

Alia has less competition, but happy for Arjun. With the raft of Kapoor kids coming down the line, he is the one I want around..

ETA: And if people think Dharma was in any way responsible for a hit, explain why Gori Tere Crap Mein wth established and bigger stars failed and not just failed, but was a disaster. 🤔
