IT is racist. Instead of allowing a fellow North Eastern Indian to portray Mary Kom, the role has gone to Priyanka Chopra. North Easterner's are hardly present in Bollywood, the only that comes to my mind is Danny Denzongpa and even he had to endure a lot of racism and still does, same goes for Mary Kom. Funny how India embraced her once she won the Olympics but I am sure she was called chickni and Chinese all of her life before winning.

I wouldn't be comfortable with a white actor playing a historic black figure in a Hollywood film by wearing blackface, so why should Priyanka Chopra play a prominent North Easterner by changing her features with the help of masks and make up?

My heart goes out to all of my North Easterner's who are being discriminated in every way possible in their own HOMELAND.

I am a Bengali but I defiantly but I definitely look like a north eastern girl. I have been called chinki and Chinese. The most dumbest question I have been asked by a school batch mate is West Bengal is really part of India.We have such Idiots as Indian citizens😡

Another bias against north eastern looking girl is that they are very easy girlfriends and do black magic.For idoits like them I have nothing but a bunch of selective abuses.🤬

The biggest myth among men is north eastern indian girls can be easily laid! Cheap thinking! Even ladakhians from my state r discriminated in jammu n kashmir at their home state
