Last week Raveena Tandon and her husband distributor-exhibitor Anil Thadani's ordeal seemed to end when the man who had been stalking her for months, identified as Mahaveer Jaspal Pandav, was arrested and detained at the Khar police station.
But Raveena lives under constant fear for her children's safety. "He isn't the only stalker in my life. There is another guy who sends me vials of blood, presumably his own, for years now. My kids are not allowed to go anywhere without the staff and security. But guys like these have nothing to lose. They can go to any lengths to get my attention because they aren't thinking straight. How long can we protect ourselves from such people who need psychiatric help?"Raveena and her husband now intend to beef up their personal security and install additional CCTV in their home.
Raveena also loves under the constant fear of the man taken in custody coming back into their lives.Says the actress, "He can be out on bail and this time he can come back even more determined to harm my husband." Apparently Mr Stalker's target of wrath is not Raveena but her husband. "He claims he's married to me and therefore Anil has no business being in my life. On more than one occasion he has followed my husband home and to the places where he is a regular visitor,and attacked him," shivers Raveena. On several occasions the man has stationed himself at Raveena's home.
"Shooing him away is of no help. He keeps coming back. But the last straw was when he pelted a big stone at my husband. Anything could've happened," says Raveena.
This is when the law was asked to intervene and the man has been taken into custody.
