Khanak smiled and placed a kiss on his chest. Her lips, lingering at the spot for several seconds. Unsatisfied and overwhelmed she couldn't control herself from placing some more kisses on his chest.

"Gosh!!! I can't pretend to be unaffected anymore. Self-control ki bhi koi limit hoti hai madam..aap ko toh pata hona chahiye" his voice slightly groggy.

Surprised she lifted her head up from his chest and looked at him wide-eyed. "arrey yeh kya??? You're already up??"

"ab uthh gaye toh mujhe baata dete. Mujhe laga ke you're still asleep." She blushed realizing that she had been caught red handed. She looks ultra-cute when she speaks mixing both Hindi and English. He enveloped her waist completely with his both hands and squeezed it.

"What's up with our Khanak and Shaan?? Kitchen mei sabki no-entry lagake rakhe hai donno" Khushboo asked as she seated herself beside her husband, on the sofa where other members of Khandelwal family were already sitting.

"donno mil ke khaana bana rahe hai. Humare liye snacks treat hai" Sunil informed her in his jovial tone.

"Aren't they romantic khushboo??" Madhvi exclaimed flashing her broad smile.

Khushboo did a aww' and then slapped on Akshay's arm who winced a bit "Dekhaa... Shaan Khanak ko kitchen mei help kar raha hai...aur tum?? Tum toh mujhe kabhi help nahi karte"

"par Khushboo tum kitchen mei jaati kaaha ho jo main tumhe help karoon" Akshay said in his defense.

Sunil chuckled "Point!!"

"leave the kitchen, main jo bhi karti hoon kya tumne mujhe kabhi usmei help kiya hai?? Nahi na??" she pouted.

Madhvi laughed "Point!!"

"Ab baby please don't get upset. Waise bhi tum kitchen mei jaa ke dekho, instead of helping Khanak Chhotey uski banayi Khaane ko bigad raha hoga"

"Watch it Bhaiya" both Shaan and Khanak came back with the freshly prepared snacks tray in their hands. "Main ne Khanak ko yeh sab snacks bana ne mei bohot help kiya hai"

"uska certificate toh Khanak degi" as Sunil asked Khanak "kya kehti ho beta??" shaan looked at his wife waiting for her reply.

"madat aur Shaantanu?? Ada aap bhi kaise kaise sawal poochte hai" Khanak is no less when it comes to annoy her Patidev'.

"Khanaaakkk..." Shaan whined like the baby he is.

Khanak laughed and so does everyone else with her.

"nahi ada, Shaantanu toh har kaam mei hamesha meri madat karte hain" She said looking at his eyes and found his already on hers.

And as everyone else got busy trying out the snacks, Khanak leaned towards Shaan and whispered loud enough for him to hear only and low enough for other to remain oblivious of their little private talk. "madat toh hamesha karte hai par unnki badmashiyaa hai jo kabhi khatam nahi hoti" pretending to be angry on him.

"Don't tell me ke tumhe meri badmashiyaa ache nahi lagte" he smiled knowingly.

"bilkul bhi nahi" she smiled. She knows he knows her too much.

"really now?? 5min mei galat proof kar sakta hoon tumhe main..soch lo"

Ranjhna... naino ke teer chal gaye

his husky voice and the implication of his words made her blush as she looked down at the ground not able to keep her gaze fixed on his. As if to give her a hint, his left hand encircled her waist and fingers flirted with the exposed skin at her waist, going back and forth. Instantly she regretted wearing a saree today but at the very next moment thought how about wearing a saree EVERYDAY.

She draws in a sharp breath.

He winked and released her. She was relieved and disappointed at the same the time.

His eyes followed her every move as she shared a secret with Madhvi and Khushboo, did a hi5 with them and laughed with Sunil and Akshay. When he for the first time, brought Khanak in the house he remembered how badly everyone has treated her except Daadi. But with time she has won everyone's heart with her innocence, goodness and love. Now everyone has become fan of KFD. So has he too. She has inspired him to become a better and responsible person. She has made him realize that she is the only one made for him, with whom he wants to spend his whole life loving her, taking care of her, having child with her and growing old with her. She has completed him and he loves her.

As Khanak looked at him she found him staring at her with so much love in his eyes. She raised her eyebrows to ask him what happened. He mouthed a 'I love you'.

In the morning Shaan extended his hands on their bed longing for her warmth but not finding her there beside him he sat up and saw the BR door was ajar.

"Khanak...Khanaak" he entered into the BR and saw her standing facing the mirror. "Kya hua Khanak??"

She turned showing him a pregcolour card in her hand, a shy smile playing on her lips. "iss bar positive hai Shaantanu"

First he stood bewildered but as he started realizing the meaning of 'positive', a smile also started making it appearance across his lips thus brightening up his entire face. And the effect on hers was exactly the same, complementing his.

"matlab...main...tum...hum..."

She nodded. He hugged her tightly, squeezing her whole being in the process. She reciprocated. Breaking the hug he tried to word his feelings but he didn't find the apt words and smooched her hard on her lips. They both smiled and hugged again.

"I'm sure Shaantanu..ussey bura nahi lage ga. Aur usski mamma ko toh bilkul bhi nahi"

"congratulations!! It's a healthy baby girl" the doctor informed Shaantanu. Khanadelwal family beamed with joy. But Shaan was very much concerned about Khanak. He got so scared when he saw her suffering in her labor pain, became apprehensive as the doctors took her to the OT and she went out of his sight. "aur Khanak?? How is she??"

"relax. She is perfectly alright though very weak but there's nothing to worry about."

Shaan was relieved to hear what he wanted to hear for so long "Thank you Doctor. Can I meet them??"

"okay, but we can allow only you then."

He saw Khanak lying on the bed while watching their baby on the baby-cot beside her bed. She had a serene look on her face. When she realized his presence in the cabin, she looked at him and smiled. But he still looked worried. He came and stood near her bed, took her left hand in his both. Tears broke free from his eyes finally.

"main theek hoon Shaantanu dekhiye" she smiled.

"Tumne mujhe bohot dara diya tha Khanak, I got so scared when..."

She pressed on his palm using as much pressure as she could manage "jaanti hoon Shaantanu...usske liye I'm sorry" she assured him wiping his tears with the back of her hand which was firmly pressed between his both palms "lekhin main abhi theek hoon...aapke hote hue mujhe kuch nahi ho sakta"

"main tumhe kabhi kuch hone nahi doonga Khanak, samajhti ho na tum??"

She nodded and smiled.

He then looked at the baby cot.

"humari pyar ki nishaani Shaantanu" Khanak followed his gaze.

Shaan went to the baby-cot and saw their baby girl, wrapped in a clean white cloth.. only her face could be seen. She was sleeping blissfully. His heart overwhelmed with joy.

"main apne godh me le sakta hoon Khanak??"

"jee bilkul Shaantanu"

He took the baby in his arms with utmost care, so that he doesn't hurt her in any way. He gazes at her face "kitni cute hai Khanak" he is finally a father. He is holding his baby...their baby.. a part of both him and Khanak..the symbol of their love. And all these feelings overwhelmed him and his happiness was visible in the form of tears. The baby stirred a little in his arm "I hope Papa is not disturbing you sweetheart"

"akele akele hamari beti se baatein kar rahe hai aap. Mere paas bhi laiyee na Shaantanu"

Shaantanu raised the bed so that Khanak feels comfortable, placed their baby on Khanak's arm and seated himself on the bed beside her.

Holding the baby Khanak felt she is holding the whole world in her arms tears also started coming out of her eyes. All her pains that she has gone through all these nine moths was forgotten when she looked at the small face of her daughter.

"Awww so cute dimples" Khushboo exclaimed pulling baby Khashish's cheek.

"apne papa se mili hai" Madhvi said slightly touching Shaantanu's dimple who was playing with his 6months old daughter, supporting her body on his folded joined knees while he supported his own back on the bed headrest. "I'm proud of that fact"

"chhotey, teri tarha naughty bhi hai bohot"

"but cutness toh mamma aur papa donno se mili hai" Sunil said when everyone agreed.

"ab Akshay aur Khushboo tum donno ko bhi planning start karna chahiye" Daadi said who has especially come to see the daughter of her favourite grandson. Both Akshay and Khushboo blushed hearing this.

"main aap ke sath puri agree karti hoon daadi" Khanak said, wiping the saliva from Kashish's mouth with a napkin as she was playing and giggling nonstop with her father.

"Thank you beta, ab tum Kashish ko feed kardo hum sab bahir chalet hai. Uski feeding time ho gayi hai"

Shaantanu was witnessing the most adorable sight of Khanak feeding their daughter. He noticed she was still now very shy doing it in front of him "tab tak main apna mails check kar leta hoon"

"nahi Shaantanu, aap yehi rahiye. Aap ko kaahi jaane ki zaroorat nahi hai." She knows he loves to watch every moment of their daughter's activities.

"Shaantanu camera chhoriye aur yaha aiye meri madat kijiye" Shaantanu placed the camera on the BR slab and kept it on self-shoot mode so that he can capture Kashish's bathing session and joined his wife to help her. Khanak was having trouble to hold Kashish as she was busy splashing the water and her mamma was already half wet in the process.

"sweetheart, mamma ko aap aur main milke tang kare?? Idea achha hai na??" and he splashed water on Khanak few times along with Kashish.

"Shaantanuuu..." Khanak screamed.

"oops lagta hai humne mamma ko bohot gussa dila diya...okay ab no masti, nahi toh papa ko bohot daat paregi" he held Kashish's hand while Khanak applied shampoo on her silky smooth small hair.

"beta apki mamma 2 sec kehke puri 20min lagati hai" to which his 8months old daughter giggled and mumbled something in her incoherent childish language.

"kya khichdi paaka rahe ho aap donno mil ke??" Khanak finally came and sat beside her husband.

"tum khichdi ko rahene do aur filhaal ongoing photoshoot pe dhyan do"

He held Kashish in his one hand and with another one he took their picture while Khanak placed her chin on his shoulder.
