5 years later.
Daddy, do you still love mommy.? Roohi asked Maan as she sat on his lap, resting her head on his shoulder. Maan smiled at her and caressed her soft cheeks.
Of course beta, I still love your mom more than myself. She was the one who taught me to fall in love, it was her love for me that gave me you. It was her faith in love that brought you to me. She fought for you and she succeeded, it was all worth it as she had said. I never believed in love, but it was her undying love for me that made me realize how beautiful it was to fall in love. Not everyone is made for each other, but if you are then nothing in this world will ever effect your love. I will always love her. Maan said placing a soft kiss on her cheeks. Roohi looked at him cutely and placed a kiss on his nose, giggling. He looked into her big eyes, they were exactly those of Geet. She was so like Geet, the same eyes, the same curls, the same dazzling smile; she was exactly like his Geet.
She will also always love you. She said patting his cheek. Maan nodded in awe and pulled her into a hug.
Daddy, how much do you love me.? She said pulling out of the hug, with a pout. Maan's smile widened at her cute pout.
Let's see, may be this much. Maan said and tickled her. She started laugh, trying to get out of his grip. After a few minutes she finally managed to get out of his grip and ran out of the room still giggling. Maan looked at her retreating figure and smiled to himself. He couldn't believe how grown up she was for her age, she would often comfort him when she could sense he was feeling low. As Geet had said, she truly was their angel. Maan looked at the photo frame placed at his side. It was the only photo of the 3 of them taken 2 days after Roohi was born, Geet never looked happier than she was in the photo. The pregnancy and surgery did put her at risk her but she had fought it. After the surgery, her condition began to worsen but she was adamant to fight it as long as she could. Losing her was tough for him, but he also gained Roohi; Geet's soul. Maan walked over to the centre of the room and gazed at her photo that hung on the wall, she was looking gorgeous. Her smile always lit up his world and brought a smile on his face, she always had given him the unknown strength which he never he had. Pulling out a rose from his pocket, he placed it in front of her photo.
Happy Valentine's Day Jaan. I love you. Miss you Jaan. He wished her, placing another kiss on her photo. It all started with the roses, they meant the world to him. Life was never difficult for him but it did become difficult once he lost Geet. He wasn't used to living with anyone but Geet's presence in his life had changed everything. She brought back the love into his life, nevertheless she didn't take it away with her. She had left behind all the love for him in the form of their daughter. Geet had taught him what love was, her absence from his life didn't lessen his faith in love but made it stronger. His love for her became stronger with each day and he knew his happiness was her happiness. Maan glanced at the 7 roses that lay in the glass box in front of her photo, they were another symbol of her unconditional love which he had recreated as a tribute to her. Even though they were not the same ones she left for him and were dried up but he could still feel her fragrance in them, they only meant Geet's love to him. Caressing the box, he wiped the tears off his eyes and smiled at her.
Talk to you later Jaan, our daughter is probably waiting for me to cut the cake or she might as well cut me. Just as stubborn as you, she is adamant on celebrating my birthday. Before she comes back with puffed up cheeks, I better go. Love you. Maan left the room and entered the hall to find Roohi dancing around the cake excitedly. She had placed Geet's photo on the table as well, it was overwhelming. The happiness on their faces was worth it. Love was indeed the essence of his life, his Geet.
The end.
