Bollywood actor Kalki Koechlin, whose marriage to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has hit a rough patch, blames the media for blowing their problems out of proportion. On Karan Johar's chat show, Anurag recently spoke highly about Kalki, to which she says with a smile, "I did watch the episode. I found it very sweet. I have had so many people writing to me, tweeting to me asking me to get back. But no one knows what the issue is except the two of us and yet they can't stop talking about it, as if they know everything."
The actor's recent monologue, in which she spoke from a woman's perspective in a patriarchal society, received much appreciation on social networking sites. Kalki is overwhelmed by the gesture, but at the same time feels that the attention it is not that important. "It's nice to have people appreciate something that explains a problem in society. But the views on social media don't matter much to me. I like talking to people and meeting them so that we both understand where we are coming from," she says. The monologue, which Kalki wrote and performed on the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8) was meant to be humourous. "It was a pretty long monologue so I had to involve humour to keep the audience attentive. That's why there are a few jokes about me facing the dilemma of having five husbands when I can't handle even one. That's a joke and it's got nothing to do with reality," she says.
