Broken Hearted Girl

Hey guys, I'm here with a TS that randomly came to my mind. I have no idea what I wrote so bear with me. It's a sad one, as the title reflects, but I hope that you enjoy it nonetheless! All parts in italics are flashbacks!

I walk past her once again. I had been noticing her for the past month. It was weird. She had never said a single word. Not to me, not to anyone else. I wonder what is wrong with her. Had someone hurt her? Did something bad ever happen to her? My heart went out to her. I wanted to go talk to her so badly but I didn't know what was stopping me. Should I say something or should I not?

One day after class, I noticed her sitting by the outside. She was crying. That was the first reaction that I had seen from her. I went up to her, not knowing what to say. "Are you ok?" I finally asked. She looked up at me and I saw her face a little more closely. She was beautiful, no doubt in that but her eyes... they were filled with pain. So much pain. I wish that I could have helped her but I didn't know what to do. She got up and ran away. I look at her running away, wondering what I could do to help her. I couldn't just leave her like this, could I?

The next day, I made sure I sat at a seat close to her. I passed her a note, but she just flicked it onto the ground. She wasn't mad but I guess she just didn't want to talk to me. But I had to get her to talk. There was an unknown urge in me to get her to talk. She needed to let out her feelings. And I was going to make sure she did that.

Antara, that was her name. I still remember how hard I had tried to get her to listen to me. It had never worked. But that had never stopped me. There was just something about her that made me want to talk to her, spend time with her, even if she didn't say anything.

I tried again and again for months, hoping to get some sort of reaction out of her. Nothing had worked. I had never seen her cry again. She was just like a robot, doing things just because she had to. One day in class, I noticed something on her wrist. There were random cuts on her wrist. I had decided right there and then that after class; I would talk to her, no matter what. She had seen me looking at the cuts and as soon as the bell for dismissal rang, she ran out. She didn't go that far because I was faster than her. I caught up to her and pulled her back. "Why are you doing this to yourself?" I asked. "What I do to myself should make no difference to you. Leave me. Why do you even care?" she asked. Finally she had said something. Her voice was beautiful.

"Because I don't want to see you like this. It hurts to see you like this," I replied. "Well what you think makes absolutely no difference to me so just leave me," she said. I loosened my grip on her hand and let her go. She ran away.

I look through the window, wishing that I had done something that day, then all of this would never have even happened. I see her lifeless body lying on the bed. I could only wish that I had done something, something to make her believe that I loved her. If I had, then she wouldn't have been there. She would have been standing next to me, smiling, holding me hand. But she wasn't. The doctors said that there wasn't much hope left but she had to make it through. For me, for our love.

The next day, I didn't see her in class. I was worried. What if something happened to her? I snuck into the office a couple of days ago to find her record, just in case something like this did happen. I had found her file, which had her address so I headed there after class ended. I knocked on the door a couple of times but nobody answered. Defeated, I turned to leave when I saw the curtain open. I saw Antara peeking out. I went back to the door and knocked again, knowing for sure that she was inside. Finally she opened the door. "Why are you here?" she asked. "I told you that it makes a difference to me. I can't see you in pain like this. Antara, I think... I think I love you," I say. She looks at me with her eyes wide open in shock. I didn't know why I had said that but I just did. Maybe it was true, maybe it wasn't. I didn't know. All I knew was that she was important to me and I didn't want anything to happen to her, not now, not ever.

"But it doesn't matter to me," she said and closed the door. I spent the rest of night, standing there in the cold. She had to talk to me, I would make sure of that. Throughout the night I could see her peeking out of the window, checking to see if I was still there. In the morning, she came out and handed me a cup of coffee. "Go, don't do this to me. I don't think I can handle this again," she said and turned to leave. "Please Antara, talk to me, I love you, I want to see you smile, laugh and live life once again. I don't know what happened before, but I promise it will never happen again. Just give me one chance, please," I asked. She thought about it and finally said, "Fine, but promise that you'll never hurt me. Never." I took her hand in mine and said, "Never."
