Painful to Purposeful!!!!!

When people cover the extra mile, it gives them the extraordinary title. The people who earlier criticized them for what they were before, then appreciate them for what they are. But never do they realize that how difficult was it for them to cover that extra mile. Its easy to be a critic but not a supporter, neither an achiever. Few are those people who overcome their pain and decide to live by realizing the purpose of their life, their responsibilities. So if you appreciate their purpose and the change in them, learn to realize and understand the pain because of which they took time to change rather than finding faults. Don't judge them superficially, if you can never know anything and everything about what they have gone through in their life.
Yes, I'm talking about Shahenshah Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar. Intially he was potrayed as a very cruel, ruthless emperor. But what about why was he like that? What made him so? How can we blame Jalal to not understand the essence of life, importance of relationships, recognizing and giving the much required importance to emotions of people from the beginning when life itself never gave him a chance to understand the person in him, his inner self. Sometimes certain wounds never appear on the body but they are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds. At one instant in his early childhood, the page of the book of his life had that string of confusing events, the pain, loneliness which shivered into meaning. Loneliness and pain spoke to him, gave up their secrets and at that moment he shut them up. But he couldn't stop himself from questioning that why only him? But then, memories that hang heaviest are the easiest to recall. They hold in their creases the ability to change one's life forever. Even when you shake them out, you realize that they've left wrinkles in the fabric of your soul. One might make frequent attempts to conceal the mental pain but that only increases the burden. When you're going through a rough patch of life; a slight wave of any unpleasant memory can thrash you down so much that you suddenly become a different person all together-a weak one. He must have felt weak but it was Jalal, who being an Emperor never allowed these feelings to overpower him.
Everyone might not have been through a painful, heart rending childhood as his but anyone would feel for him on knowing about it. Childhood should be carefree, devoid of worries and responsibilities and just like a beautiful dream but what if its like living a nightmare in the darkness of the soul?????Without your mother and father to guide you at the most crucial stage of your life, at such a tender age what can you expect someone to do? He'll then look for people to connect to, he'll search for people to love him, to care for him. And if he gets that love from those people who were never meant to bring him up but destiny had it in store for him, then is he at fault? But again he was unlucky in this situation because even though Jalal's love was selfless for Mahamanga and Bairam Khan, they had their motives behind it. No doubt they loved him, but their's was not as selfless as Jalal's love for them. Soon he became an ardent follower of Maham and Bairam Khan for he believed that both loved him endlessly and that they always wished the best for him. Being a child, he learnt what he was made to learn, he understood what he was made to understand, he did what he was made to do! So he can't be questioned because his upbringing had never been right.
Wrong is the opposite of right but sometimes it is the path to attain goodness. At every given moment we are absolutely perfect for what is required for our journey of life.He was so because he was meant to be what he is now. So if Jalal was somewhat wrong then, it was because today he is right. So even those with painful childhood can grow up to be the best of people. There is always a positive to a negative. Often, it's not about becoming a new person, but becoming the person you were supposed to be from the very beginning but didn't know how to be. Catalyst needed! For Jalal, who else it could be other than Jodha and their love for each other? Soon he discovered his heart. For him it was like discovering some part of him that wasn't his at all or should I say something that he had lost. And that has made him wonder what else he couldn't claim! He has already embarked his most adventurous journey; the journey to himself; the journey to discover who he really is; the journey to find the most treasured pieces that one can find and that is all the pieces of him; the journey to the most special portrait one can recognize and that is the portrait of his soul. So now he is not far away from his destination.
He has travelled throughout his life, to seek other states, other's lives and now he is seeking for himself and someone else's heart and soul. But now there is a difference and everyone knows it! From being Jalal to Akbar is a long journey. He is yet to complete it but be it Jalal or Akbar, I respect both and I love both. It is because he was Jalal, he is remembered as Akbar today. Had there been no Jalal, there would have been no Akbar! He has his journey to be proud of and I'm proud of him too.

Beautifully said Reemi. As the French Novelist Marcel Proust says -

We don't receive wisdom, we must discover it for ourselves, after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us. "

Lovely quote. Wisdom is gained by experience. Had it been taught or simply imparted through words, everyone would have been a perfectionist.

Your posts are like a a flute of champagne. Each sentence like each sip needs to be savored and thought about. This post about Akbar was particularly insightful.
