Twenty years have elapsed since Anjali Dhanrajgir was sentenced to life imprisonment. On the other hand her grown up children Ayesha and Rahul are given to believe that their mother is no more. She is a free woman now. Anjali's prime motive in life now is to reunite with her children and find the real murderer he house of the Dhanrajgirs wears a gloomy look. Obviously, because a hawan (shraddh ceremony) has been organised in memory of Anjali Dhanrajgir. Besides the hawan kund lies a big photograph covered with a piece of cloth. A huge carpet is placed on which the family will sit and pay their homage to the departed soul. Flowers are seen placed on a big plate along with a bowl of chandan (sandalwood) and some other utensils needed for a pooja. The artistes along with Ayub Khan (Aman), Ashwini Kalsekar (Adira), Yuvraj Malhotra (Rahul), Priya Wal (Ayesha), Manini De (Ramona) and others are seen taking last-minute instructions from director Qaeed Kuwajerwala. The scene is going to be emotion-filled because the elders have to wear a grim face to show the twins Rahul and Ayesha how much they feel for Anjali, knowing for sure that she is alive and serving life imprisonment in a distant country. The shot is soon to be taken. The poojari takes his seat before the hawan kund and assorts flowers on a plate for everyone to come and place before the photo of Anjali. On a call of 'Action!' by Qaeed, Aman, Rahul, Ayesha, Adira are followed by the entire family who come and sit on the carpet. All of them look amused while the poojari initiates the ceremony by chanting a few mantras after which he wants to know the name of the departed soul. There is a pause while all eyes are on Aman. "Yamini Dhanrajgir" says Aman. "Cut!" says the director and the artistes get up for a small breather. As minor adjustments are warranted on the set, production hands get busy doing their bit while we corner Qaeed for a brief chat. When we want to know about Anjali, the director says, "In jail, she realises that someone from her family has framed her. She was to get 'death-by-hanging' but when she was found pregnant, her punishment was reduced to life imprisonment of twenty years. She gives birth to twins -a boy and a girl. Adira takes away the childen along with her and that leaves Anjali devastated. As her term is to come to an end, Anjali vows to unite with her children and find out who is the real culprit. Upon coming back, Anjali finds that Aman is busy with his business and least interested in what is going on in the house. She is happy to see her grown-up children but cannot reveal her identity as the circumstances don't permit." The artistes are all seated and are ready for the next shot to be canned. The poojari starts by saying, " Maa ki tasveer pe phool chadhaaiye" after which both Ayesha and Rahul get up and make an offering of flowers and when they unveil the photograph they find, to their astonishment, that it is not the photograph of their mother. Tears roll down the cheeks of Ayesha. The shot is complete and there is a big gap for the next shot to be taken.
Someone comes in to call and Qaeed leaves us with glee. Just then we spot Ayub Khan and request him for a small chat to which he readily agrees. Asked to brief us about his character, Ayub replies," Aman is now a brooding person. All the zest has been taken out of him and he feels cheated by life. He, in short, feels that a crutch has been taken away because Anjali, who was his strength and conviction, is no longer with him. But he believes that she has commited the murder and has an animosity towards her. For him Anjali is over and done and he has given up on her." On a question about his star-status after the show went on air, Ayub says," The serial has indeed given me a boost. Earlier, people who recognised me used to give me a pleasant look and pass by. Now, even if I am in my car and they happen to recognise me, they run back to my car and wave out to me."
While we are conversing, we see Ashwini Kalsekar coming our way. Sensing that we would now be interested in talking to her, Ayub takes our leave on the pretext of having to rehearse his lines. After she takes her seat, we ask Ashwini to define Adira's character."All that is going on in the house is well-planned by Adira. She has groomed Aman's children and has pampered them to such an extent that they have turned into spoilt brats. Adira is all out to rule the Dhanrajgir empire and is constantly trying her best to destabilise the family by making one fight against the other. She goes by the British dictate-'Divide and Rule.' In short you can describe Adira of being a 'Power Freak'. But everyone has his day. Soon Adira is going to be paid back by the same coin; her days of indulging in nasty deeds are about to end. Yes, mind you, though the needle of suspicion is on Adira, one has to see the serial to the end to find who the real culprit is." "Gumnam hai koi, badnaam hai koi, kis ko khabar kaun hai woh, anjaan hai koi, " she sighs.
