In this section I'll be discussing the bickering and emotional parts of the suhaag raat.

Here begins the bickering scene. MJ laments that Tara indulges in the typical dissatisfied wife talk - complaining about what he did not do rather than what he did for her. Tara makes it clear to him that she is not someone who can be easily pleased. MJ's irritation starts rising as he too makes it clear that her stubborn husband can only do this much. He is like this and ... .. Tara stops him and completes his sentence for him , 'I am like this and will stay like this'. MJ is not amused this time. His frustration is building up. This is not he was expecting of their big night. He tries to calm himself and admits to her that she was right. He was going to say exactly the same words but then wonders what was the point of arguing over this petty issue at this time of the night (when there were far more interesting things to say and do). She agrees that they should not be arguing but then he started it. All he had to do was apologise and assure her that he will shave his beard either tomorrow or the day after. The matter would have finished with it. Could he not have said this little lie to keep her contented?

MJ couldn't believe that his wife was asking him to lie to her to keep her contented. He missed the point she was making. She did not want him to shave if he did not want to. All she was asking him to do was to bluff to her that he will, giving her the temporary pleasure of thinking that her hubby will do anything for her. MJ, on the other hand, does not believe in fooling people, even if it was to make them happy. He believes in doing what he says and saying what he does. If he cannot do something, he will not give false hopes of doing it. That is the reason why he stayed away from Tara all these months although he loved her dearly, for he thought they have no future together. He confessed his feelings only when he was assured that all the hurdles to their union were gone. He could have confessed earlier and made her happy but as long as he believed that this happiness was temporary, he could not give it to her, knowing that she will suffer far greater pain when she loses him. Tara's thought process is not as complex as her husband's. She believes in living in the moment. If saying something makes someone happy she will say it, even if she does not mean it.

MJ picks up his pillow and goes to his couch, much to Tara's chagrin. She tries to tell him that she does not want him to leave but our hero's patience seems to have worn off and he sulks, lying on his couch. Tara tries to get him back to their bed by calling him Gollu ke papa and other endearing terms. Looks like she is giving loud enough signals to her husband to start the process of getting Gollu into this world but MJ is too annoyed with his wife to pay head to her calls. She gives up after sometime, but not before she shouts out that although she knew that he was stubborn and grumpy she thought he would be different tonight. She turns away from him and tries to sleep. Unfortunately, sleep evades both of them as they keep turning around to check on their partner, each stubbornly holding to his/her stand, hoping that the other would give in.

Finally we get our emotional scene of the day. After tossing and turning on his couch for sometime, our hero finally gives up and approaches his sleeping (or was she pretending to sleep?) wife. He gently shakes her up and says a heartfelt sorry which prompts her to admit that she wanted to say sorry too but then he was showing so much attitude that she gave up. When she asks him what made him return to their bed leaving his couch, he repeats what she said earlier about how one needs to do the right thing at the right time. He demonstrates this by kissing her on her forehead. He then goes on to apologise for all the times he hurt her knowingly and unknowingly. To atone for hurting her hands he kissed them. To atone for giving her tears, he kissed her eyes and wiped the tear which slipped through them. Before he goes any further in his atonement speech and action, she stops him and holding his face, she assures him that she forgave him long ago. She further tells him that they need to forget their past and instead start their life afresh with only love between them, not sorrow. MJ is moved by his wife's words and leans in to seal her lips with his but alas they are disturbed by Yug's phone call.

Guess the honeymoon period for Mriara which began with MJ's love confession is over for now as we will have get back to their harsh reality filled with villains and vamps.

kyun na ho..he has been givng the woman enough hints to know what he TRULY WANTS😉and she has been acting dumb every time he did that!😆 Actully I feel, Tara does it on purpose😉 see gettin intimate wid this hunk of a man is ahem..well getting close to him is what she is kind of inhibited may be intimidated 😳

This is not he was expecting of their big night. He tries to calm himself and admits to her that she was right. He was going to say exactly the same words but then wonders what was the point of arguing over this petty issue at this time of the night (when there were far more interesting things to say and do).

He has wasted so much time all this time, others too added to it...so he admits to the mistakes...which was absolutely unnecessary😆

She agrees that they should not be arguing but then he started it. All he had to do was apologise and assure her that he will shave his beard either tomorrow or the day after. The matter would have finished with it. Could he not have said this little lie to keep her contented?

Tara ko na ladu chahiye bhi au nahi bhi chahiye..the man is pissed off wid her confusion😆 they wasted so much of time in their argument..SR main aise koi time pass and waste karta hai kya..esply if its r 3 marriage (wid the same person- wid ur love😆)

Awesome analysis! My fave part being your interpretation of that little argument they had. That's the beauty of these two - they're complete opposities in the way that they approach situations in life but they work well as a couple. One is rational and think about the consequences of their action while the other is emotional and likes to live in the moment without having any regrets which balances out :)

I think Tara is the more practical one between the two. MJ is far too emotional and lets his emotions govern his decisions. Tara is emotional too but does not let that cloud her judgment. When she found that her stranger friend was actually her inhuman hubby she was prompt in punishing him. She did not get swayed by the fact that he did indeed save her several times. The minute she came to know of his innocence though, she stood by him as a rock. She missed her mom very much but did not let that come in the way of supporting her husband. She loved her husband, but when she saw his interaction with Radha and concluded they love each other, she set aside her own emotions and supported them, not because she wanted to sacrifice her happiness but because she thought his happiness lay with Radha. the minute she realised his happiness lies in her, she did not hesitate accepting it, even though she was aware that Radha loved her husband. In Nandu's case also she never let her sisterly love cloud her judgment of what is right and wrong and she dealt with her firmly. She suffers less from guilt complex than MJ does. Once she apologised to MJ about harming him thinking he was in the wrong, she did not revisit that part. MJ, on the other hand, tends to be too harsh on himself. Maybe his inability to openly apologise is partly the reason. With Tara's help he is slowly getting over that problem.

Tara resorts to fighting with MJ to hide her nervousness!!!!

Poor MJ!!!!😔 😔 😔His night is not exactly turning out the way he wanted!!!!😛 😛 😛

MJ and Tara are indeed opposite in nature but they do make a perfect pair and are a force to reckon with when they are together!!!!!😊 😊 😊 😊 👏 👏 👏 👏

MJ surely did the right thing at the right time by apologizing to her!!!!😉 😉 😉 😊 😊 😊

MJ apologizing to her about the times he had hurt her was emotional and sweet and full of love!!!!😊 😊 😊 😊 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳 😳

Seems like the honeymoon is over now!!!!!

Fair point and I think that his reason for being too harsh on himself is because he feels he deserves this suffering. All his life he has been made to feel like he is a burden on this family and he is the root cause of all their problems so there is that apologetic complex that has been drilled into him. He's still apologising to Tara for what he did ages ago so he always feels that he is responsible for everything.
