It's being said that a star was born with the release of Gunday on Friday. There's no arguing that Ranveer Singh is the centrepoint of the film, which also features Arjun Kapoor, Irrfan and Priyanka Chopra. The film took a grand opening yesterday and earned Rs 15.5 crore all over India, the biggest opening for both Singh and Kapoor. After yesterday's flying start,Gunday's collections kept growing and it reeled in Rs 15.5 crore all over India. Distributors feel the film will break many records and, will be a super hit by the weekend. Over to them:

Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai

Yesterday, we assumed Gunday would reel in Rs 10 crore, all-India, but it's thrown up a surprise. Not only did it run house full last night; it did so across the board, not only in the metros. Gunday collected Rs 15.5 crore, which is much more than we expected. The morning shows today too wirnessed good occupancy.

Brijesh Tandon, H K Tandon and Company, Delhi-UP

Gunday was promoted well and the music also kept growing on the audience. The movie became a talking point ever since the first promo released. As a result, it opened on a grand note and earned Rs 3.5 crore on its first day in spite of heavy rains in Delhi and UP.

Jaspal Dhingra, Nanaskar Enterprise, East Punjab

Gunday earned Rs 2 crore in our territory and since the report of the film is very good, the film is expected to enjoy a good run at the box office. Being a solo release, it has a big advantage.

Debashish Dey, Aum Moviez, West Bengal

Gunday took a monster opening yesterday and collected Rs 65-70 lakh. The film has elicited only positive feedback and is running strong today as well.

Gunday clocked Rs 55 lakh in our territory and collections are expected to improve today and tomorrow.

Sarang Chandak, Shri Rang Films, CP-Berar

The film has earned around Rs 70 lakh in CP-Berar and is doing very well in both multiplexed as well as single-screens. It's seen a good run since the morning shows today. This movie will do brisk business at the weekend.
