Kools, the information about date rape is extremely valuable and it will warn many in the forum how to be careful.

Nice to see you back after a long time.

Oh my God, never thought Misogyny and Rape Justifiers would be present in this forum. Shame! I am disgusted by the TMS viewpoint.

I have stopped watching BV since last few weeks. Checked the forum for updates and I am glad I quit watching this show.

This looked predictable but I thought it'd be consensual and not a date rape.

@ this TM, I am sorry to say but the views were uncalled for and pathetic.

Yes Sanchi should have been careful of her own safety and family needed to take better care of her. But I don't think Sanchi deserved it. Or her family deserved it.

The CVs are sending a very negative message with worst and increasingly downhill portrayals of urban educated girls. They ruined Gauri. They showed Ashi having premarital sex. With Sanchi they crossed all limits. It's Udaipur and not some other big city!

No woman, irrespective of her blunders, deserves to be raped. This mentality of women inviting rape on themselves is sick and must be discouraged.

Saurabh and boys like him are WRONG. PLAIN WRONG. That's it.

Sanchi deserves justice.

I also hope they don't make it another Basant-Gehna making Sanchi marry that rapist! 🤢

BV has gone very low. Village girls are innocent or illiterate when they "suffer" rape. Urban girls are trash who either slip willingly or "invite" it on themselves.

To create some spice in the show they've spoiled it. Thumbs down! 😡

Good to see you back! Missed your posts. 😊

I actually think this track could bring some much-needed life back into this show. While Sanchi obviously didn't deserve to be raped, her actions and her family's lack of action did contribute to things reaching this stage. It'll be interesting to see how they all react to this wake-up call, and how it changes Sanchi as a person.

I also disagree with your views that consensual pre-marital sex is wrong/trashy, but that's a whole other can of worms which I won't discuss here. I also don't feel like the CVs have necessarily spoiled the characters of city girls. What I do find annoying, though, is that despite claiming to be progressive, they make everything modern seem bad. There is nothing wrong with going to a party and having 1 or 2 drinks. Doing so doesn't have to equal something terrible happening. One just has to be responsible about it. Yes, there are risks, but there are risks in everything. Seriously, if there is ever an Indian show where the main character has safe pre-marital sex and goes to parties with alcohol and is shown in a positive light as a responsible adult rather than as a wayward person whose actions are not to be imitated by decent folks, I will fall off my chair in shock!

@ SiriuslySujal and Skepblun,

I am jumping into your discussion but both of you have raised some nice valid points on portrayal of Urban girls vs rural girls of this show.

I kind of agree that portrayal of educated urban girls have been more towards negative side than showing their positives.

Let's take Gauri for example. She was well-educated, career oriented, hardworking and smart doctor. Why exactly did CVs make her fall for J, and let her continue with the relationship after knowing of J's past? They ultimately turned G into an insecured, restless and selfish human being

Are CVs telling us that despite being educated, Gauri was brainless to continue in an illegitimate relationship? Did education have no impact on her, that she still wished to stick to J just because she was once rejected by him and his family? Was education not able to bring her out of her childhood trauma?

And ultimately G is not even with J. She is probably single (with or without a child) fending for herself, by cashing the education she once received. So why not highlight education positively in Gauri's case too?

Similarly Ashima - A lot of girls go through heart-breaks and come out of it too. No big deal. But they don't end up slipping into ONS with other guys only to regret it later. Just because it was a modern urban girl like Ashima, CVs didn't mind showing it, but would they show something like that with Ganga or Anandi? There they would show only fighting spirits.

Cvs have very convincingly shown the mishaps with village sanskari girls but when it comes to Urban girls, they are almost characterless. Sugna falling pregnant - but then they showed it was a result of her being BV. Phooli's pregnancy - result of natha pratha. Ganga-Gehna's marital rape - again result of old traditions. Anandi's divorce - result of BV. The way CVs have shown these village girls, it makes them appear as victim of poor old traditions and hence audience can sympathise with them so much.

But where modern girls like Gauri, Saanchi and Ashima are concerned, CVs haven't given any solid reason for their behaviour / choice. Till date I don't know why G married J, why Sa is a brat and why Ashi was so weak?

CVs have also shown education only working for the likes of sanskari village girls like Anandi, Ganga etc, that one ended up marrying a collector and the other one a doctor, while Sugna was blessed that Shyam married her. With those type of examples, education becomes an inspiration but when it comes to Sa or Gauri, it comes down to honour / reputation at stake?

Sorry to interrupt in this serious discussion...
But in this serial whoever were shown negative.. Gauri, jagya, sanchi etc etc all is to make anandi and shiv mahaan.. There is not realism to this serial at all.. so why are realistic discussions going on here..
Each and everything is mocked here ..including child marriage, adultery, divorce, remaariage, life after remarriage etc etc..
It was shown that bal vivah is correct and balak var is wrong..if jagya stayed in the relationship then balvivah would have been correct..but he opted to go out of it he is wrong...
Gauri came to get the permission of jagyas parents after marrying jagya but not before..is that real..
Anandi stayed and didnot divorce jagya even after gauri got pregnant..
The dying son jagya was thrown out of the house but DS and singh's shed crocodile tears for him..
The current husband of anandi drags the ex husband back ro home..
Anandi remembers her x husband in SR with her current husband..
No be bothers to keep an eye on sanchi even after her irresponsible and cruel behaviour...
They would have easily stopped this rape of sanchi.. But they didnot .. Not to tackle a issue but to drag the story and make more screen space for their loves sanchi, shiv and anandi...
This serial is just a draag and not a message serial as the writer herself said in one of the interview..
I am really surprised how many people take the serial seriously..
No offense intended..just my views...

There are deliberate attempts to malign me in this forum by many.

As if I am saying Saurabh is right.
As if I support rape.
As if I indirectly support rape.

I tried to put my points across but many wants to ignore them and go on what they want to say about me.

I have been personally attacked. Called regressive by people who themselves are behaving like moral police. There is a lynch mob out to get me. And also have an inkling as to who is behind this.

Last time I am giving my defence and I am requesting moderators to close this topic and remove me forever from this forum.

Goodbye.

Taali ek haath se nahin bajti.

Sanchi did not value her virginity.

Sanchi forced Jagya to get engaged to her.

If all this, including the last one which is an utter falsification, is not considered an attempt to implicitly justify rape, then I wouldn't know what is.

Playing victim doesn't change what can be seen in letters. If pointing out the obvious(in this case, the very words typed) is construed as "personal attack", then so be it.

Hereby I rest my case.

SiriuslySujal and Missesha: A very interesting and valid point. Whenever it were rural women under assault, the Creatives have gone out of their way to showcase them as blameless victims. But in case of the Urban (or urbanised, as in Gauri's case) female, they have portrayed her as variously bird-brained, emotional, conniving, heartless and misguided (taking Gauri, Sanchi and Ashima together). One wonders if there is some intentional subliminal messaging involved here.
