I didn't think I would ever love such a character but I have started to feel she brings in the zing through her dialogues and of course she and her dialogues will keep this show running for years while we all can drool on the romance bit. I think she is doing very well too...clear and pristine delivery of dialogues. The whole cast is doing well yaar. Love this show.

Nice post, NB, and I totally concur!

I had seen Ananya Khare before, ... and always detested her ... she played very clear cut black characters, who were negative for the sake of being negative. So I was quite apprehensive about her here ... I thought she would be another run-of-the mill saas who hates the bahu for no good reason.

Much to my relief and surprise, I can't hate her at all ... I even find justification for much of her behaviour like wanting the haveli because she has kept the business running all these years, and her questions about Paro. She taunts not only her DIL but also her son for the lack of a child ... as Jaya said, she's not running to get her son remarried, and even seems to be keen on getting her DIL treated for the problem (she asked her once if Samrat had brought her medicine from Jaipur) ... apart from the mandirs and havans etc. And she's not a blindly doting mother to her evil son either, she keeps him in check as well. In short, her venom is universal 😆 and she seems to be a very sharp cookie.

Her venom against Rudra has a clear cut motive ... a very selfish one ... but it's there. And because her character has been so well etched, I am enjoying the actress much more than I have done in her earlier shows. Her dialogue delivery and diction is amazing, and her expressions are fabulous!

Lovely post!

I for one was really excited when I found out Ananya Khare was going to be part of the show. She can deliver the most venomous of lines in the sweetest of tones. From her expression to her voice modulation to the way she carries herself is just brilliant.

I doubt there are many actresses who can taunt the way she can. A mixture of reprimand, jeer and command all rolled in one.

Everyone in the house knows she's doing it but is left tongue-tied in front of her sabre-like tongue. The only one who can seem to hand it back to her in equal measure is her pyarasa nephew. But even he is sometimes shocked black and white by her words 😆

I love your posts!

But frankly, I can't stand the KakiCumMaasi at all. The actress may be doing a good job, but she is tiresome.

While her interactions with Rudr have been crackling so far, they could get repetitive.

But I so waiting Thakur-Sa to come back as I found him a worthier opponent to Rudr and they had awesome chemistry.

And it will help take the focus away from the haveli, which I find very confining. I really loved the initial episodes of RR when they shot in the desert. That is what made RR different. I know it is not possible to do that all the time, but a broader canvas would be nice. 😊
