I believe in protecting heritage sites and ancient architecture not for any religious reasons, but simply to preserve history. I give a rats ass about religious faith.
If a site prohibits photography, videography and other activities to protect the relics, then there should never be any exception, especially not for commercial movies. The only exception maybe responsible work done to educate people about the site.
If a site prohibits photography, videography and other activities for religious reasons, then it is upto the governing religious committee on when to make exceptions. I mean if the college of Cardinals wants to let Ranveer and Arjun dance at the papal conclave, that's their prerogative.
