What a way to start a new week- a new title montage. A cosy scene by the fireside- I would not have expected it even a week ago! However, it was a great surprise from the show. My only question is why only Jalal is looking at Jodha- even the prior montage had both looking at each other. I think I am reading too much into it- it is a beautiful scene nonetheless. However, did anyone else notice the same? Looking at the episode, it looks like Jodha is the one more eager to take the relationship forward so no worries there.
So as usual, here is my take of the top 5 scenes from today's episode:
1. Jodha's expressions in the DEK: While it was nice for Jalal to apologize and his announcement to build Fatehpur Sikhri for Jodha, I found the best part of this whole scene was Jodha's expressions- the tearful gratitude, happiness, and pride was portrayed wonderfully (at least in my eyes) Just as Jalal could not take his eyes off Jodha, I also thought Paridhi has become very good at subtle expressions. I also love how these two cannot take their eyes off each other even in a crowded DEK- while Hamida Bano told him to go with him teen khaas begums, I believe Jalal was only looking at one. Loved both their expressions and silent eye conversation when he referred to the attack during the visit to the last dargah.
2. Salima ki Jai ho: I was disappointed in Hamida Begum, after all her comments on Friday seeing Jalal and Jodha close to each other, she decided to send the 3 khaas begums together. And she thought this would remedy his loneliness! Did she think he would like to play referee? 😆But thank god Salima Begum did the trick and made it so that only Jodha and Jalal would go.
3. Jalal marveling at his transformed bhaagin: What was there not to love in the next Jodha- Jalal interaction (actually, there was one thing, why were Moti and the baandi standing there). Loved Jodha's eagerness to go, take care of him, and be with him. What I loved even more were Jalal's expressions of amusement and surprise at how eager she was to go- especially when she was making her case to Hamida Bano. Contrast this to the Jodha who dragged her feet to go to Ajmer and why wouldn't Jalal be shocked? Anyways, I thought Rajat nailed the expressions on this scene.
4. Maham ki timing: I am glad that MA warned Ruqs after Jodha- Jalal left. I am sure Jalal would have still only gone with Jodha- how many begums can you take with you when you are going in disguise after all? In any case, it spared is a little more shrieking of Ruqs. More on Ruqs later.
5. The precap: wow! How am I going to get through the next 24 hours? Loved the scene and care they showed for each other. Contrast this to the meals they shared right after the wedding and after the Amer trip and you can see such a huge difference. Was this the Jodha who was hesitant to share a plate with Jalal? Last week I had looked forward to a tent scene where the two would be alone- now I am so excited that they will be together alone for the whole trip.😊
Honorable mention- Yeh dosti hum nahin chodenge: I loved the bonding between Hakim Mirza and Maan Singh though I believe it is contrary to history at least in the longer term. It is great to see a true friendship on this show as it is so rare so I am curious if it will sour and if so, how.
A question- Is Ruqaiyya ko kya naam doon? On one end she gives her gift to Salima/ Rahim but then is so jealous of Jodha. I guess similar to Jalal, her brain functions differently when it comes to Jodha. 😉
