dadisa showed why she is so much respected inspite of all her faults.
The way she tried to make the corrupt Collector understand and then getting angry and then the bangle scene. It is an old fashioned way yet endearing.
DS talking about environmental issues is a slap to the smug Collector.

Anandi should stop being a one man army and take others help. Glad that Shiv sensed and got information. Otherwise anandi would try to hide and let matters come to a boil. Anandi seems to use Payal only when she needs her and otherwise she forgets to keep in touch with her. If she had kept in touch with Payal regularly, she could have found out about ankita as well.

Yes ! It is heart warming to see a reformed Dadisa as an environmentalist ! Means she is gathering knowledge from papers and that ' com...computor' kuch bhee ho chori !"---
Here she is questioning the higher authority with her moral right !!
It seems it is going to be a political and ethical ...social oriented movement !! Means we are entering in to a larger arena...an area which covers the entire social system ...

But here i have an objection !
Why everybody considered --wearing bangles as a shameful act ...---Does it not mean, the women who wear the bangles are lesser mortals and guilty of something ????
Personally i don't like to wear any sort of jewellery ... but love the poem written by Smt .Sarojini Naidu .The Bangle Sellers .. She considered the bangles as ...
Lustrous tokens of radiant lives,
For happy daughters and happy wives !!

I know this giving bangles will become a controversy. But traditions good and bad dont die easily and dadisa represents tradition and she is too old to change completely.

I very much liked the way Dsa handled the collector yesterday.
She tried logic and sense with him and when it didn't work with him she decided that he is not worth the trouble and proceeded to show his place. 👏

But the gesture itself left mixed feelings because it was insulting to women and who wore bangles.
But It came from Dsa who is barely literate and was conditioned to believe women are inferior . If it had come from someone like Bhairon or J it would have been unpardonable.

Yes !You are right ..traditions are entangling the modern woman in many ways ! Even today in my village ...people measure a person's property/worth by assessing the jewellery worn by his wife !
When in Rome , do as the Romans do---- We have to adopt ourselves to the customs of the places we belong/visit !! But after crossing that border ...without wasting a minute ... I free myself from all those entangled " Silk Threads" made out of
gold" ---not out of shame but i don't like 'showbaaji' and one more psychological aspect to it ...recently happened...a thief loved these sparkling things too much...and shown his aggressive side ... stunned for a while ...later gained a point to prove that 'that's why i never wear these things ! " type of argument !

It is like who wears pants in the house.

Men opening car doors for women. Why women cant open those car doors for men?

Women are generally associated with certain delicate things while men are not.

There are still those barbie dolls selling like hotcakes while no one thinks of gifting those dolls for a boy on his birthday party. Girls dont receive those toy guns generally as gifts. Only tomboys among girls get those gifts from thoughtful people.

If a man walks like a woman(gracefully), he will be butt of jokes. If a woman walks like a man, she is appreciated.

So many contradictions!

Men are as much insulted as women.

She rocked in that confrontation with the DC, but...that bangles bit could have been avoided. It becomes too stereotypical..

Both are at crossroads !!
The socio- cultural charactarisation of man and women , the way societies make a distinction between them ..and gender bias was introduced at a tender age to deal with the general tendency to attribute women's subordination to their anatomy !
For ages it was believed that the different characteristics , roles and status accorded to women and men in society are determined by sex, that they are natural and therefore not changeable !!
Boys are encouraged to be tough and outgoing, girls are encouraged to be delicate{shouldn't open the car doors !] and shy ! But my personal view is that-- a man feels chivalrous while opening the car door for a lady !!😊😊

There are vast differences in education level because of gender inequality .
Women's lives are shaped by customs that are centuries old !---May you be the mother of a hundred sons !!-----is a common Hindu wedding blessing ?! Statistics reveal .
There is a need for new kind of social institutions ...a new thought !
