Chapter 4

Dedication time!

Chapter 5 is dedicated to AnotherAdmirer, for the amazing reviews of Chapter 1-4. I loved reading them😉

Okay, I've finally completed my exams, So I will try to update as much as I possibly can.

I haven't had any time to edit this chapter. Apologies for any mistakes.

Chapter 5

6pm,
Aliya's Home,
Bhopal, India

Zain and Rizwan had met Ghulam (Aliya's father) and Ayat (Aliya's younger sister) in the evening. Initially, there was an awkward silence, but as Zain and Rizwan became more comfortablem the conversation was flowing more easily. The boys had refused Shabana's offer of eating in the evening as they were still full from the feast they had earlier; They returned to the guest room, which they both shared for the duration of their stay in Bhopal.

"Bro, uncle was talking to you on the phone for quite a while. What did he say to you?"

Zain sighed.

"I asked dad if I could leave for Bangkok tomorrow and he said I have to wait for him to come to Bhopal tomorrow and even then I think he will probably ask me to stay for Aliya's wedding. And you know when he asks me to do something I can't say no. All this is happening because of Aliya. If she wasn't getting married, I wouldn't have had come here to persuade Phups to let dad help with the expenses and I would be allowed to go to Bangkok. This girl is obsessed with ruining my life."

"Zain, you've got to relax. You never know we might enjoy this journey more than Bangkok." Rizwan said.

Rizwan's eyes glinted with mischief.

"I've been thinking-" said Rizwan slowly.

"Stop right there, Riz. Whenever your "think" there's always some sort of trouble." Zain looked at his friend, remembering one of the many slightly traumatic event they had experience because of his best friend; Rizwan.

"Stop being so pathetic, bro. Please listen to me. I been thinking, for the few hours I've known Aliya, I have realised you and Aliya have one thing in common."

"What? Riz, I think you're sorely mistaken. If we even had one common characteristic do you think we would be trying to throttle each other at every chance we get."

"Zain, you haven't even listened to what I was going to say."

"I don't need to. And by the way Riz, you've only got a limited supply of brain cells. Don't lose them all by thinking about my childhood nemesis and me."

"Zain, the amount of sarcasm you use is not good for your health. It will make you cynical one day, and you grow up to be a bitter, old man."

Zain glared at Rizwan.

"Okay, okay. Sorry."

Zain rolled his eyes. Rizwan was stubborn as a mule. Of course Zain had his moments too but Rizwan had a completely one-tracked mind, which was always focused on the matter at hand. The only distraction that Zain ever used on Rizwan was food but since, he'd already eaten there was no point.

Rizwan tried to start again.

"What I was trying to say was you're both immature. I mean you both act immature around each other."

Zain looked at Rizwan as though he had grown two heads.

"Yeah, Riz I think its imperative you stop thinking now. Your brain seems to have gone into overload and in guessing it's going to be shutting down after this difficult thinking."

Rizwan ignored Zain's comment and continued.

"You see Aliya taunted you and she got told of by your phups. And you were muttering under your breath the entire way here about Aliya like a grumpy little child. Now I don't know about you but that the way young kids react but you and Aliya are two fully grown adults."

"You know what? You keep speaking, I'm going to listen to some music." He said pulling out his iPad.

Rizwan smirked at his friends behaviour; he began to unpack his belongings and stored them in the wardrobe provided in the room.

Rizwan's thought were circling around the room.

Why has Zain's behaviour drastically changed since we arrived at Bhopal airport. He seemed normal on the aeroplane and he seemed fine on the drive over to Aliya's house. What happened at the Dhabhar that got his pants into a twist. Something's definitely up. Zain has never acted like that, I know him to well. I guess I'll have to wait until he comes to me and talks. Rizwan wondered.

A knock at the door brought Rizwan out of his riviera of thoughts.

He went and opened the oak door. He smiled at Aliya who was stood outside holding a tray with two glasses f milk.

Aliya returned the smile.

"Ammi told me to give you this milk. She though you would be tired after your flight and touring around Bhopal."

"Thank you." Rizwan said as he moved out of Aliya's path so she could enter into the room.

"Should I take the tray from you?"

"No, It's alright. I'll just put in on the table." Aliya said as she walked to the coffee table. She placed the tray on the table.

"Er, wait a minute," Rizwan said, as formulated a idea.

Rizwan walked over to one of the two beds in the room; where Zain was leaning against the headboard of the bed listening to music with his eyes closed.

"Zain. Zain!" Rizwan called his comrade, hoping he would hear him. Zain, however, seemed to be absorbed in his music and obviously wasn't aware of what was happening in his surroundings.

A grin spread across Rizwan's face as he moved to unlock the iPad placed on the bed, infront of Zain. Rizwan opened up to the music Zain was currently listening to and clicked on the music icon. He swiped the volume to full and jumped back.

At the same time, Zain was startled, letting out a yelp and jumped off the bed, in the process his earphones fell out.

"What the hell, Rizwan? Are you trying to make me deaf?" Zain said without missing a beat.

"You weren't listening to me." Rizwan said, trying not let the grin form on his face.

"Well of course I wasn't. I was listening to music. You could have nudged me or turned my music down, but no you had to have your fun and increase my chance of impairing my hearing."

"Okay, next time, I'll tickle you with a feather when you don't hear me." Rizwan replied, with sickly sweet voice.

Rizwan gave up, shaking his head.

"Guess who bought us some milk?" Rizwan said raising his eyebrows.

Zain opened his eyes and saw Aliya standing in the room, trying to control her laughter.

"Toh, mein kya karoo?" Zain said, annoyed that Rizwan would startle him for the girl who stood infront of him.

"Well for a start you could say thank you, batameez." Aliya angrily retorted.

"No. I'm your guest and I'm sure phups has raised to be respectful to guest and make them feel comfortable."

"I do respect guest to who come our house but when I see your face I can't help but curse you." Aliya smiled innocently.

"Surprise, Surprise, the feelings mutual." Zain smirked, just to wind up Aliya.

Aliya sighed.

"Look, I will be civilised towards just for ammi's and mamu's sake. I don't have a lot of time left with them so please no pranking, no teasing, no trying to get on each others nerves. Understood?

"Fine, for Dad's and Phups' sake." Zain replied; he moved his hand forward waiting for Aliya to shake his hand.

Aliya shook his hand. The strange spark was still there, Zain was affected by the spark far too much for his liking which just confused him even more. Aliya had felt the electrical jolt but shook it off as she retracted their from the handshake.

"You're free to prank Rizwan as much as you like for the duration of your stay though," she smirked, since she knew Rizwan would respond. Which of course, he did.

"Hey," Rizwan said, hurt by what Aliya had said.

"Tomorrow is my sagai, so please, no funny business. She looked at Zain as she spoke to make it clear she was talking about him; And only him.

"Khudafiz," Aliya said before leaving the room.

Rizwan moved to stand infront of Zain.

"Zain you're not going to let it go are you?" Rizwan said.

"Where would the fun in that be, Riz." Zain grinned menacingly.

I've read many brilliant Fan-Fictions and I thought the manner in which I tend to write in is mediocre compared to them.

I like writing about Rizwan's and Zain's friendship. They will share a relationship like Fahad and Zain. Meaning their very close, like brothers.

I am currently writing a character list, which will be posted on page 1.

Have to say for a friend, Rizwan as a guy observes a lot ! 🤓 And is quite nosy too ! 😆

Apparently for Zain, no matter what the situation is, if Aliya is present, blame zeroes in on her right away for him. Now Poor thing's fault is that she's getting married 🤣 Actually from Zain's pov that is the very problem ! 🤣
No Kidding, but 5 lakhs to spend on a Bangkok trip, is worth for Zain ! Mann main Laddoo phuta hoga challenge sun ke ! 😆

Have to have Rizwan for such sweetness, yes Bhopal would beat Bangkok for Zain ! 😆

It seems we the star of this chap...Our very own Rizwan ! I like the way u explored Zain-Rizwan in this chap. They have amazing potential, Hope this gets tapped in the show too. 😳

Does this happen to Rizwan when he is well-fed? 😆
Grumpy hungry Rizwan can't select a hat for himself ! but look at him firing at Zain, digging up information and his suggestions are completely another thing ! 🤣

For Zain, just the mention of Aliya's name along with his is a matter to be hushed up ! She and him don't belong together, even the very mention ! Liked the way Zain kept wanting to throw off Rizwan but couldn't!

Did going to Dargah help Rizwan too? A few more brain cells maybe 🤣

His observation is right though, just like Rizwan becomes a kid when it comes to food, so do Aliya and Zain when it comes to each other, is that how he drew the connection, coz all he did was eat anyway ! 🤣

As for Zain coming to Rizwan, can't imagine that, all Rizwan would do is guffaw like a kid, and Zain isn't the confession guy anyway ! Guess Rizwan would have to poke his nose in the matter, since he is so good at it, that shouldn't be a problem 😆

Don't know what was more funny, Aliya with two glasses of milk, or that Phuppi had sent them knowing well they were fed to brim ! 😆 Trust phuppi's to send you home resembling a balloon ! 🤣

Rizwan formulated a plan and executed it well too !! Go Rizwan ! I am doing an andolan here for you to get a heart meal three times a day! When fed Rizwan comes up with the most amazing analogies, ideas and comments ! 🤣

How girly was Zain with his impaired hearing thing ! 🤣 Oh well It had to be something funny for it to be embarrassing ! 😆 I am just wondering how Aliya managed to hold her laugh ! 🤣

Zain's reaction. If it were me I would be saying the same 😳 To main Kya Karoon? Are you expecting me to drink it? I would actually plead them to take it back ! 🤣
Aliya's words were strong, yet on imagining her one realizes she's teasing him, with that smile on her face. Harsh words struck him and that smile taunts him. Trust Zain to have a perfect comeback, his smirk matches.. nah uh beats Aliya.

And she ends up giving weapons to Zain, by mentioning her weakpoint. Now Aliya needs to learn that when you cry war, you don't just back out with a request !

Added I was surprised Zain promised her yet, is going to trouble her, on re-reading Aliya's request I realized the gaping hole, she didn't state it properly, In another context she asked Zain to not play any pranks on Rizwan and that he could carry on after her wedding, now to think of it that way gives me peace, whether u intended it to be that way or not ! 🤪

I didn't expect Aliya would shake hands with Zain, it would have left him curious, but they did shake and felt that spark.

Waiting to know what plan Zain has up his sleeve, Dear writer! Are you a prankster ? 😆

It was a fun chap overall ! Great Job ! Looking forward to next, PM bhejna mat bhulna ! 😆 😳

I love writing reviews to work that I Love, so it's nothing really ! I am a talkative person, so I write in lengths, added being a writer myself I know what one expects from reviews, as long as it clicks with me, I comment :) You FF is one of the best in ZaYa, because it is hard to understand ZaYa, you have picked them from one point, and are shaping them in a very realistic manner, it is completely your pov on them, and I am loving it so far ! :)
I've read many brilliant Fan-Fictions and I thought the manner in which I tend to write in is mediocre compared to them.
Honestly, big words, lengthy narratives, complicated structures, they are a tough job, but if you ask me, simple narrative is not easy either, everyone has their style, and as long as one excels in that style, nothing else matters ! :)
