The way Paro is shown being treated in the show is grossly incorrect from day one. Each and every aspect of the show is a misrepresentation of the system. But then, have never seen anything onscreen that comes even close to depicting the reality.
About the witness protection plan, that kicks in when they agree to become state witnesses. For now they are an easy target from both the sides. And this is the usual case.
Rudra, is more ruthless than the usual, as even his officer has pointed out. And he has his reasons. He cares a hoot about rules, or niceties or laws or humanity too...all he cares about is getting to Thakur, whatever the means. By hook or crook. Paro is his trump and he is bound to use her. Yes, they are ordinary villagers, but if by using them, he can prove that a lot of lying and deception was going on, and eventually break down the kingpin then, it is worth a try. After all in all such cases, the end justifies the means. Having said that...what I loved was the way the Paro forced some humanity in him today. The girl did get under his skin, not everything was farce.
And about me being the romantic...have seen enough of bitter harsh reality in life...this is my sage haven...my escape...so forgive the rose hued lenses...😛
