Ranveer Singh says Anushka Sharma taught him everything; is Deepika Padukone listening?

Amidst rife rumours of Ram-Leela couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's juicy affair, Ranveer recently confessed that alleged-ex Anushka Sharma has been one of the biggest influences in his acting career so far.

Ranveer in an interview to leading English daily poured his heart out as he revealed that Anushka taught him a lot about the medium and acting when he was just a novice.

"The two biggest influences have to be Anushka (Sharma, co-star Band Baaja Baaraat, 2010) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali (film-maker). She taught me so many things about the medium and acting. I was fortunate to have her as my co-star. She was one of the biggest influences. Anushka taught me a lot since I was only a beginner. She taught me everything that a novice needs to know before giving his first shot." said Ranveer on being asked about the biggest influence in his acting career.

Now we hear that Anushka will be playing Ranveer's love interest in Zoya Akhtar's upcoming flick that also stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar.

We wonder if good friend' Deepika Padukone would be okay with this!

um so whats the big deal? If deepika was asked the same question do you think she wud have said ranveer? No she wouldn't, she would have probably said srk and farah. Anushka was his first co star so he obviously learnt alot from her about the craft bcuz she had already done a movie before.

lol when deepika talks bout ranbir or when ranveer talks bout anushka why does it have to be such a big deal?

And why wudn't deepika be okay with this? she is doing another movie with ranbir who is her ex.

Either he hurt Anu so baaadddly that's why he kept sweet talk bout her, while she's so bitter bout him (though they will work together for the sake of professionalism) or He just obsessed with Anu as Deepika to Ranbir 😆 that's why DeepVeer got together to console each other's one sided love story 😛

oh and if this is DP talking bout how great ranbir is etc etc she will be labeled "desperate ex" 😆 double standard it is 😉

Nothing new. Watch Rajeev Masand round table of actors recently he said the same thing. He has always been vocal about it. Even during the Ram Leela promotion time when there was talk about Anushka being casted for Zoya's film.

Anyways, Ranveer mentioned Anushka's influence on him before this in Rajeev's rountable too and has pretty much maintained this answer since the beginning...whether you trace through the LVRB, Lootera or even Ram Leela periods, whether it was times of friendship or not. In general, there's about five people he's talked about somewhere or the other in different contexts with regards to influence...Vikramaditya (told him not to assume that it's his duty to entertain people after walking into a room), SLB (put him on the spot & made him approach acting from a different stand point than what he learned from Lootera, etc.), Deepika (showed with example how much more efficient he could be with his abilities), Anushka (early ropes), and Aditya (mentor) if I'm not wrong.

It's nice to see consistency and sound reasoning behind all of his choices. In his short career so far, all people of very distinct personalities (ex. Vikramaditya vs. SLB) are bound to have made a mark on him. I will say that he is very easily affected and ready to collaborate or pick up things from anyone...but nevertheless, I can't say it hasn't been refreshing to see him use a lot of words of praise for the people he values, admires, or has learned something from. Many think he goes overboard...but you don't really see people crediting others or acknowledging their influences so openly. It shows some lack of ego and an effort to shine light on the positives of other people.

Well said. Also, I think it is deliberate at times that he chooses to give credit to others especially in the case of SLB. Now I don't think Ram Leela was as epic as made out to be but I think Ranveer knew that SLB needed support because everyone in the industry wanted him to fail. In Koffee with Karan episode during rapid fire Karan Johar asks if the chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika was good acting and Ranveer says good direction. I am sure SLB had his own problems and the way his mom was so loving and thankful to Ranveer shows his affect on them. Also Ranveer sat through music sessions saw fought cuts of the movie etc way before anyone else.

I honestly also believe Ranveer believed in RL more than Deepika before she got to see the screening and only then started singing even more praises. Before anyone starts saying I am wrong, remember she also said YJHD is the best love story ever told in Bollywood.
