Most importantly parent's wishing their children to marry in a particular community and looking down upon others are very different things.

Exactly...not wanting ur kids to marry into a different race/religion and hating people of different race/religion are two extremely different things...

One may not want their kids to marry into a different race/religion can be due to several reasons like...difference in the country, culture, upbringing, religious view etc which sometimes the married couple might find difficult to adapt to...but not letting ur kids marry because u hate a particular race is racism ...
