I don't understand how this will fly A-okay with Ranbir. If I'm not wrong, Bombay Velvet is his most anticipated and publicized movie in production after the dud that was Besharam. If they go with the clash, there's only two possible conclusions to draw: either they are dead sure of the product's critical and somewhat commercial viability, or Ranbir will be pulling a huge risk in trying to 'prove' himself by going up against Aamir at what seems to me like quite a critical stage in his career. If it is the latter, it's an extremely foolish risk to take out of bravado...they will not open well and there is no guarantee that the movie will be everyone's cup of tea, so they might fail at word of mouth making any difference too.

If I was Ranbir, I'd probably be most eager for this movie to be moved. Even more than Anushka, who has it bad. But for him...it's pretty BIG, especially if the competition goes on to deliver good results in the majority of what is 2014...and he comes trailing at the end with a potential phoos bomb in hand? She will get commercial success from PK and may get critical acclaim from BV even if they release the same day. Ranbir is definitely going to loose out on one and the other isn't guaranteed, so...I'll be waiting for the news that they changed the date.

Or watching them land in a ditch.

Bombay Velvet's success is critical for Ranbir. Maybe he is persuading Anurag to shift the date. I think they'll end up shifting eventually.

Anurag want to make sure this film released with PK because he offered BV first to Aamir and Aamir refused due to weak script now Anurag want to prove Aamir his film can beat aamir's film and he have good script.

There were rumours that SRK and Aamir refused BV and it's confirmed that Ranveer was dropped for Ranbir.

Good idea to shift the date! They could prepone it though.
