Dear Vaishnavi,
Don't worry about it. Thanks for liking my post and for responding here as well. Yeah, the coin thing made me laugh my head off because it was not a war at all. Laachi has now been converted to the whole Porus hero worshipping brigade, and worse still she's going on and on about her husband, instead of King Porus. Oh well.
Porus' main aim was to get Farsi support for his cause, rescuing Barsine for her own farewell was a secondary move. But it's ok, yeh siyaasat hai.
I just think Porus should admit he's involved in chhal instead of making it seem as if he's out playing a fair game that he's won. Of course, chhal is often successful whereas an out and out face to face war would not be favorable. He knows he doesn't have enough military strength at this point. I also though Anusuya's remark to Olympias about bete ka bal vs maa ka chhal was unwarranted. Olympias never talked about doing chhal or not, she never boasted about anything saying she wouldn't use any specific tactics. She is in survival mode now and even though she's a prisoner she will do whatever she can to fight back. Olympias is what she is and now Anusuya is accusing her of what exactly? Her own son was involved in deceit but no, that is not something she points out. Sometimes I think she is just blind to her own son's faults for whom she has a saath khoon maaf policy.
The Ambhikumar angle is interesting in the sense that I wonder how the father-son conflict will play out. Also, he'd better not become too complacent because Alexander will figure out his game sooner or later.
I think the message will be successfully intercepted because Barsine cannot go to Faras. I doubt the makers would distort things to that extent, but let's see. What I would still prefer is if she goes back to Alexander herself and calls a truce. Seleucus Nicator has to be dealt with, of course, and brought to Bharat to govern after Alexander leaves. Fire has to triumph at some point. Since Ambhiraj doesn't know what his son is doing, he may end up helping Alexander anyway and figuring out about the Hindu Kush plans through his own spies without his son being aware of it.
If the Alexander-Roxanne "romance" weren't such a flop I would have thought now'd be the time when she supports him as a wife, as per what Olympias told her before leaving. He's going to need it, especially when he finds out how deep the deceit goes. I seriously want her to suspect Ambhikumar, just like she suspected Ambhiraj was lying about the explosion on the bridge.
I am also really looking forward to seeing Rohit portray very deep emotions as an emotionally wounded Alexander. He's going to be awesome, I just know it. I don't think Alexander would be "broken" necessarily but he will likely reach a low point.
Yes, Rohit's eyes in that scene with Cleitus! Ouff!! It was a powerful scene indeed and Rohit just snapped it up and made it his own. I loved the look in his eyes as he was heating the sword and having those flashbacks. 👏 I still can't get over that little change in his eyes after Cleitus nodded, that went from him being a leader giving strength to his injured general, to feeling the pain that Cleitus was feeling, as if someone had inflicted that wound on Alexander himself. Wow!
You're right about someone somewhere trying to squeeze in some opportunities for Rohit/Alexander to shine despite the muddy tracks (no pun intended). During the show's launch SidT was saying that he'd asked Rohit to be selfish about his character. I think this is what it means - for Rohit to use every single second and give it his all, make his own mark. I think Rohit knows he's doing his best but I don't know if he realizes how much this role especially has impacted people worldwide who've watched him.
Seriously, all over social media there are loads of people saying they watch the show just for him, which is the biggest compliment one could pay him considering he doesn't get much screen time. Meaning, people are willing to put up with the other less interesting stuff in PR just to get a glimpse of him. For someone who's never been trained formally in acting, he is just unbelievable. Nazar na lage and I hope he remains humble because this will help him a lot in future. Believe me, when I try to watch other shows I feel let down by most of the male actors. Rohit has really spoiled us and I'm going to keep a close eye on his career and follow everything he does. 😆
Playing Mirza put him on the map and made him famous even in the Arab world, Turkey, and Iran. It gave him recognition and had women follow him like crazy. But with Alexander, the impact is quite something else. There must be many like me who have discovered him through this show but what's interesting is that he's gained a huge male fan following as Alexander which is not common for Indian TV where it's mostly women drooling over male actors for their good looks more than acting skills. I would love to see him do stuff for Netflix or even go to Hollywood. His nuanced acting would be understood and appreciated there. I also think that after Porus is broadcast in other countries, he may find interesting projects there too, similar to what Mahabharat did for Shaheer.
