and one more thing, this is especially for you shyamala di because i wish to clear - i don't really consider anyone blind here...i completely agree with this point that its not necessary that every person sees a situation in same way...sabke point of views different hote hain...it can happen that something which is wrong for me is not wrong for that person...or he or she is looking at the situation from some other side...i believe its just difference of opinions. And whenever anyone of us make a point on this forum...we have given supporting facts...let it be me, you or any of our regular forum members...so there is no one blind here.

I agree with you on all that you have said here, my dear Surbhi. It is totally true for you, since, as I have said time and again, you are very honest, and you try to be as fair as possible, though you are intensely emotional, at times too emotional.

But it is not true of everyone, and I can show you several comments that appear to believe that it is somehow unpatriotic to prefer the foreign Alexander, as a character and/or actor, to the Bharatiya Porus and, following from this attitude, that those who prefer Alexander should be condemned. And the word "fandom" has been used time and again, in an unmistakably negative sense.

Now I find this kind of attitude depressing, and at times it even makes me angry. I never criticise anyone else's opinions, and I don't like anyone else sitting in judgement on me and my opinions.

For this show is not a contest to judge the patriotism of the viewers. It is all make believe, not reality. If the events in this show were actually happening, of course everyone would support Porus. But as things stand, it is just a show, and a stupid one at that. So we are free to favour whom we like, and if I find Alexander far more interesting than Porus, that is my affair, and it is a free country, after all!

Even if some of those who favour Alexander support his negative actions, that is their affair, so long as their comments do not cross the bounds of decency. Those who watch shows like the Game of Thrones - which I have deliberately avoided, for I would not have been able to stand it - have a much higher tolerance level for overt, extreme violence, and some found the bull scene comic. I did not; it horrified me. But I do not go about making snide comments about their supporting Alexander.

No one is stopping anyone from praising Porus as much as they want to. In fact I have found it odd that there are next to no Porus-centric threads that I have seen, except Deepthi's, and she did not even come back to see who had written in to praise it!

As for me, I say what I feel like about any particular issue at any particular time. And I do not sneer covertly at the posts of others even if I do not agree with anything in them. I simply leave them alone, for they have the right to air their views.

Finally, as for the Alexander philes being considered blind, no other inference is possible from the kind of comments I am referring to, which made me feel, above all, very sad. You might not consider them blind, but there are clearly those here who do.

I have never voiced these sentiments of mine before, and am doing so now only because the matter came up. I am not sure it is a good idea even now, but what the heck, I shall let it stand!

Aunty, I am so glad you expressed your sentiments on this one! 🤗 I stopped following this thread when I saw such comments because I simply didn't like them and felt angry. I couldn't just keep reading the things which were making me feel bad without answering them but at the same time I didn't want to start an argument again on this Puru vs Alex topic! So, I was just neglecting this! But I came back when I saw your post and I am glad I did! Now, I feel better! 😃

I feel that Alexander is very cold and cruel I don't like watching it at all and for the of god What is mother doing with him., I know for sure she wasn't involved in. Wars at all. He kept her out of it much as he can. Right

I am glad it made you feel better, my dear. I have expanded the post a bit - you might like to take a second look at it, - but in essence it is the same.

But Surbhi is a dear girl, a painfully fair person who never rubs anyone the wrong way and is invariably. honest and candid. Our viewpoints on most things are poles apart, but I am very fond of her, even when she gets all worked up about something.

I understand Laachi's reaction because she thinks her brother was innocent like an angel. It's not like if he is not a deshdrohi he has to be a deshbhakt. He was just a brother, an annoying greedy stupid brother but she never thought he will team up with Alexander. She just can't imagine that she being so much involved for a better Bharat, her brother is the exact opposite. She is not totally wrong but she needs to think also that Anusuya was always everyone's well wisher and was always against the traitor. She won't kill anyone if she only suspected someone without being sure about it. I would have liked to see her having thoughts about it.

This Laachi vs Anu is not disturbing me. What is disturbing me is that Porus is not looking for Chanakya. They made Chanakya so unworthy in this show. The man has disappeared and Puru is behaving like nothing happened. I thought he will go after him. What a disappointment Puru has become. 🥱
