I think it would be better to wait for a while , my dear. I am sure you will be able to produce a beautiful analysis when things settle down and we know where we are.

Look at that take of mine for Chota_Don on Alexander coming up to meet Chanakya, and see how it turned out. I felt very silly. At least my earlier references in the Malay post to Diogenes and Alexander's unparalleled education were historical material. This was pure analysis, and I fell flat on my face.

As for Aparna's babble, of course her relationship with Alexander is going to change. Overnight, I expect, with no explanation why!

What I would like to know is how much longer this show is to be dragged on. Alexander cannot be camping near Takshashila for 6 months! Puru has to get back his rajya too. And how long can they show the actual battle? Three episodes max. So another month, I hope, and not more. How many segments will Roxanne get in all this?

@Aunty, I will always look out for your posts.

I've been working on a post about Alexander and Roxanne for the past few days, but with my current mood I am wont to keep stalling publishing that here. 😭

Yes, that's a good idea.

I can't believe I'm getting so worked up about a TV show with "fictional" characters. 😕

To be very honest, I wasn't surprised to see those disturbing and cruel scenes for Alexander as it was already made obvious to me by the 1st the promos that the scheme of the makers of Porus is to try to draw a very drastic line between GOOD vs EVIL opposing Porus, the Mahan one against the ruthless and agressive, Alexander. Can you recall the "curse on the West part of the promo ? This was how the voiceover qualified Alexander's birth and introduced him 1st to viewers. This one really had me boiling but I settled down to watch how the actor's gonna embody Alexander's role. And so far, he has portrayed Alexander with such zeal and grace. He's definitely the most convincing version of Alexander the Great 😃

The character is still very charming no doubt. I just love to see his different traits. He is evil, he is cruel. He is also curious. He is brainy. He is amused and amazed. 😆 How can you not like him ?Much better than the repetitive heavy dialogues of Puru about his maa and matrabhumi. 😆 And the actor is a good actor. His eyes speak volumes.

Taking all this in consideration I am not that much disappointed now that I think about it. 🤔 I don't mind the cruel side of him as he definitely wasn't innocent. 😆 As long as I get to see Alex's various personality I am ok with it. I am back to liking him. 😆 Thanks to Porus' boring personality. 🥱

I am not going to include Olympias in the list, because she is above everything else in his life, followed by Hephaestion.

Agree, it's ridiculous that he would need anyone's help to get Porus. He will do it on his own merit. I was starting to think that after receiving that message from Chanakya betraying Porus, he would get angry and tell Taxila he would wage war on them, but that doesn't make sense either given his character. Even after what Barsine did, he showed great restraint. I, for one, don't see him making her life hell, even though she does deserve it after being ungracious about his kindness and helping Porus humiliate him. Maybe all this happened off-screen! 😕 But somehow, she managed to tell Roxanne about Porus' antics in Persia, so she obviously wasn't sent to the dungeons.

He has a very strong code of honor and even his dealings with Roxanne show that there are lines he will never cross.

I think the CVs are struggling to find the right balance in rushing to finish the show and closing off tracks/tying up loose ends. They are taking shortcuts and being lazy about plot points, hence all this confusion.

I remember how he never paid attention to Olympias continious "Tum Zeus ke bete ho". I was like at least he is sane. 😆 But as soon as Philip betrayed him, he started calling himself Zeus' son and he wanted to fulfill his mother's dream. Earlier he wasn't that much into it. The priestess showed him the path he needed to take to become the great Alexander. His changing behavior happened because of Philip's betrayal and his mother's instigation.

One thing is good is that unlike his illusion, he still cares for his closed ones. I thought this will be gone when he was asked to kill his mother and friend.

Alex accepting the offer made my head I hope just like what he did to Bessus, he has another plan behind the acceptance of the offer.

Yes they started with destroying a plant. All the people who love nature must have cursed him. 😆 Then the little good he had in his heart was by showing him killing a baby. I totally agree killing Olympias and his friend was nonsense. But it's good to see him that he still cares for his loved ones.

This is when you realize Rohit has really hit the zenith with his performance and his portrayal of Alexander because despite the CVs attempting repetitively to blacken his character to the core until he is acknowledged by every viewer as the Evil one and Porus as the triumphant, compassionate and great one but they failed in such a way 😆 To this day, we are still fascinated by the character and admire his overzealous deeds (if he comes to accept tonight that cheap treaty of trading Porus, than consider you never heard it from me please 😃 😆) The whole set up to kill his dear ones one by one was more pathetic than anything because their manicheen GOOD vs EVIL dimension really hit it's paroxysm of ridiculousness. But somewhere I think Alexander knew these were just a set up to test him and the grandeur of his will and ambition, that he's to overcome at any cost, without stepping back and he did it !
