Swastik Productions to narrate the tale of a kid and an elephant through 'Bandhan' on Life OK

By TellychakkarTeam 24 Jan 2013 - 16:30
Jannat Zubair Rahmani

Siddharth Tewary's Swastik Productions will soon come up with an untapped subject on television, that of the bonding between a little kid and an elephant. Wow, don't you think this subject will create wonders on the small screen? Well, if you really feel so, then watch out for this unique fiction show titled Bandhan on Life OK.

As per our inside source, the pilot for the show was shot in September last year (2012) and the makers have in fact done a lot of research on the above-said subject. The show in addition to depicting a strong bonding between the animal and the kid will also break the shackles on various myths that man has towards an elephant.

So who plays the little kid who befriends an elephant? Our source tells us that Swastik Productions has yet again roped in the little prodigy Jannat Zubair Rahmani (who earlier played Phulwa in their Colors show) for the central role. The makers have zeroed in on two elephants and have got them trained for the project. One is a mother elephant while the other is her baby elephant. The unit shot for nearly seven days with the elephant and Jannat for the pilot.

The pilot has been approved by Life OK, and work on the show has already begun. Casting for other principal characters is presently on.

We tried contacting producer Siddharth Tewary and sent him a test message, but did not get any reply from him.

When contacted, Jannat's dad confirmed the news and said, "Yes, Jannat is a part of Bandhan. It is a very nice subject, and that is all I can say at the moment."

This indeed is a show to watch out for!!!

Wow, thats great news. The subject of the show is quite different, not something we have seen on TV before I believe and knowing the PH I guess this too will be a very different but endearing project. And will be great to see Jannat there again. She is a child prodigy! :)

Seriously wish history would repeat itself but in a good way; it would be wonderful if they rope in Ajay and Sargun again for main characters...that would be like a dream come true. Really wish so! :)

Thanks Dolly for sharing! 😊

Thanks for sharing Dolly!😊

Sounds like a sweet touching story and seeing how well Jannat did in Phulwa, sure she's going to be perfect in it. I so wish they would take Ajay and Sargun together too...want something as good as Phulwa and guess no one better than the same PH to create that.

Darshan Pandya and Kshitee Jog

Tellychakkar.com had exclusively reported about Swastik Productions coming up with a unique show for Life OK tentatively titled Bandhan which would narrate the story of a kid and an elephant. We have already written about Jannat Zubair Rahmani essaying the central character.

We now have more details for you…

First of all, the show has found its title in Chota Ganpati. We hear that Darshan Pandya and Kshitee Jog have also been roped in to play pivotal roles in the show. Our source informs us that Darshan, who was last seen in Sony TV's Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada, will be seen as the male protagonist. He plays the role of a forest officer and Kshitee plays his love interest. The guy will be in charge of the forest and this is where he bumps into the little girl who is in search of an elephant. However, the guy will be killed post which the story will revolve around Kshitee, the girl and the elephant.

When contacted Darshan Pandya said, "I cannot comment on anything right now."

Kshitee confirmed that she is a part of the show and stated, "Yes, I am looking forward to this project."

For the uninitiated, Kshitee Jog was also seen in Swastik's Navya on Star Plus.

Watch this space for more updates on the show.

Thanks for sharing Dolly.😊

Quite a different show it will be...but kind of sad that he'll be killed so soon in the story, maybe there'll be some mystery around it. Hope it turns out to be a nice experience shooting with the elephant for Jannat.😊
