CHAPTER 24
" Haai Sita Miya...Amrita I swear I am going to kill you when I get back home!" Sugni grumbled as she opened her traveling bag and looked for something appropriate to wear.
Apart from a couple jeans, and tops, there was lace and awful amount of lace. Sugni picked one of the lingerie up and wondered how on earth did someone fit into one of this, and why because as far as she could see there was no difference with wearing that and being naked!. Her face redder than a tomato she quickly stuffed it back in the bag wondering what was she going to do.
In the name of romance and long drive apparently this was one part Amrita did not think through. The drive from the city to Goa took almost seven hours, and it being night there was not much sightseeing to be done. They arrived at the hotel after 2 AM.!
Having been up since the crack of dawn and wearing this extra heavy outfit was not helping the situation and by the time they got to the hotel they were both exhausted and all they wanted to do at the moment was sleep.
Since Sugni had a ton of makeup and jewelry to remove she suggested Vickram get first crack at the shower before she did as she removed her bridal wear. Now she was looking for her night clothes and all she could find was this.
Sugni sighed as she sat on the bed dishearteningly wondering what was she supposed to do , wondering how comfortable she could get in a pair of jeans, it had to be more comfortable than this heavy ghagra for sure!
The bathroom door opened and Vickram came out, looking all fresh and clean wearing his customary white kurta.
"All yours... what's wrong?' He asked seeing her dejected face.
"I have nothing to wear." She said. Looking at the open bag.
He laughed..."What!? You have a whole bag full of clothes and nothing to wear?...come on!' He shook his head.
"You're serious?" He said seeing that she was not laughing. She nodded.
"Amrita packed..." She said
"Huh? " He asked confused.
By way of explanation she held up the flimsy garment, her face red.
"So what's the problem wear that!" he said tongue in cheek. Obviously enjoying her predicament.
"Ohh I am really tired , and you making fun of me. Fine . I'll sleep in my wedding clothes.!" She said.
Vickram turned to put his towel away, as Sugni wondered if she could just crash on the bed like that. Great first impression she thought.
"Here you can wear this.!" He said handing her one of his white kurta shirts identical to the one he was wearing. Sugni looked at it and let out a relieved sigh as she accepted it.
"Ohh thank you so much!" She said getting up to hug him.
"Ok Ok...go freshen up I know you are tired.!" He said as he released her. Sugni grabbed another towel and other essentials she needed and made her way to the bathroom , feeling mischievous for the moment she turned to look at him.
"By the way...um do you buy these on whole sale...I mean you seem to have a lot of them!" She laughed.
"Really?" He said looking at her. reaching in her bag he took out one of the garments..."Would you rather ...hmmm?" He said walking towards her with a wicked glint in his eye.
"No no no ...sorry...it's fine.!" She said hurriedly as she opened the bathroom door and disappeared behind it before he could get to her. She herd him chuckling behind her.
A few minutes after she stepped out of the bathroom feeling ten pounds lighter. She looked over to the bed to find Vickram sprawled out looking as though he was fast asleep. Poor thing she thought he must be more exhausted than she was.
Not wanting to disturb him she moved as quietly as she could putting away her clothes and them taking off the light laying down next to him. She closed her eyes with a tired sigh. Suddenly she felt Vickrams arm as he hugged her.
"Hey I thought you were asleep " She whispered as she turned towards him, moving closer to rest her head on his chest.
"Almost," He yawned..."feeling better?" He asked> Kissing the top of her head as she smiled closing her eyes
"Hmmhmm" she said hugging him.
"Good nigh Mrs. Singh." He said
"good night..." She mumbled. Loving the sound of her new name
"Vickram?" She said sleepily
"Hmm?"
"Say it again please.'
"Mrs. Singh..." He said...
They both drifted into a deep, exhausted, yet contented sleep.

"Is there something on my face?" Vikram asked Sugni who was staring at him for almost three minutes now. They were standing outside their room on the balcony of the hotel overlooking the city...just enjoying the view. The next evening.
"No" She said smiling as she removed his hand from his face.
"It's just that I had a really wonderful time today... thanks to you" she rested her head on his shoulder. After they got up around mid-morning the next day Sugni insisted that she wanted to tour the city. They spent the entire day visiting the Arvalam waterfall, Aguada fort and Mahalaxmi temple after which Vikram took her to his favourite restaurant. He was amazed at her reaction upon seeing all these new places for a moment he could have sworn he was with Shanti instead of her mother as she was behaving just like her...just like a child. They spent the remaining of the time at the beach where Sugni gave Vikram some swimming lessons after she found out that that he could not swim. It was truly a day to remember.
"Sugni" Vikram said as he raised her head to look at him...
"You don't have to thank me, you're my wife and it's my duty to take care of your happiness hmm...so promise me that you will stop thanking me from now on". She was about to protest but gave in as she looked at his almost serious expression.
"I promise" she said softly.
"Good" he kissed her forehead.
They remain like that as Shanti and MT kept crossing Sugni's mind. She knew Shanti would be okay as long as Amrita was there with her but MT she wondered ...shaking her head to get rid of the thoughts, not wanting to spoil her mood or Vikram's for that matter ...this was their time together and she knew they had to make the most out of it. She looked up at the starlit sky and gasped.
"Thakur Mallick, look"..she said excitedly
"What?" his asked looking at her .
"There" she said pointing towards the sky
"A shooting star...i heard that if you make a wish upon seeing one, it will surely come true". Quickly she closed her eyes and silently made her wish while Vikram just stood there...admiring her.
"So what did you wish for?" she said as she opened her eyes, shaking him out of his thoughts. Her excitement shone right through her eyes as she looked at him. Closing the gap between them he gently ran his fingers through her hair as he whispered
"Nothing"
"nothing?" she asked puzzlingly
"No" ,because everything I have ever wished for has finally come true so there is nothing else I want ...nothing else ...he said , his voice reflected the emotion he was feeling at that moment...bending his head he slowly kissed her lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss..both becoming lost in each other.
"Sugni"...Vikram finally said as he broke off the kiss... "don't you think it's time we?"... he playfully bit her lower lip. Blushing, she gently pushed him ...i'll be right back she whispered as she made her way back inside leaving him staring after her questionably. Twenty minutes later ...she came out and stood behind Vikram who was looking up at the sky...sensing her presence ..he immediately turned around ..mesmerized as he looked at her from head to toe ..she was dressed in a beautiful, long, lace, red night gown. One that was not too daring but still something she never thought she would find herself in.
"A-actually"she began blushing as she looked at the floor, not sure what one said at a moment like this .I"um thought...you.." ...she stopped as Vikram silenced her by placing his finger on her lip. She raised her head to meet his eyes...he was looking at her intently. Sensing his intentions, she smiled shyly as she ran to the other side of the balcony. He followed her. With her back facing him she could feel his hot breath on her neck ..placing her hair in front of her ...he dragged his finger from behind her right ear down to her neck. His lips retraced the path afterwards .She closed her eyes, shivering at the tenderness of his lips on her skin. Turning around, she hugged him tightly.
"How about we continue this inside, hmmm" she blushed. Vickram smiled as he scooped her up in his arms and walked back inside towards the bed which was scattered with rose petals where he gently placed her. He blew out few of the many candles that decorated the table at the side of the bed before undressing himself and taking a seat beside her ...Her face was completely flushed as she looked at his naked form. She felt his hand slipping her nightgown off...taking her underclothes with it. "Vikram" she groaned ,remembering their previous night together, as his hands stopped in between to caress her. Slowly, teasingly. He settled over her ...his weight pinning her further down on the bed.
"I love you Sugni" he said softly...as he ran his nose down her cheek to breasts where he planted his share of kisses. "I love you too" she moaned...wrapping her arms and legs around him... both gradually becoming consumed in the fire of passion as Vickram continued his journey down the rest of her body.The night was spent lost in each other as their love was expressed as physical passion.

Sugni looked at Vickram who was fast asleep Sugni could not help smile at how innocent and handsome he looked. She blushed as she remembered last night, their first night together as man and wife in every sense. She did not think there was a way for them to get closer to each other but she was wrong.
She caressed his face, he stirred but did not wake. She laughed softly as she leaned forward. "Thakur Mallick...waaake up!" She said softly in his ear.
"hmmm" He said ...turning as he wrapped his arms around her hugging er. ..."nope" he said pulling her so she was lying on top of him. He opened his eyes as he looked at her."Why are you dressed?" he said as his hands started wandering over her clothes.
"Hey behave...get up!" She said trying to push off him but he refused to let her go. Giving up she rested her head on his chest as she looked at him..."Please...get up"
"Why?" He asked kissing her neck.
" because it is almost lunch time...and I am starving...please..." She said as she made a pleading face looking at him. He laughed.
"Then why did'nt you order room service?" He asked
" because I was waiting for you ..." She said then blushed as her stomach growled in agreement with her.
"Hmmm...ok...Ok...I'll get up...order room service while I freshen up hmm?" he said releasing her to sit up.
"OK.." She smiled as h kissed her before making his way to the bathroom.
"So...How is Shanti?" He asked as they enjoyed their lunch on the balcony of the Hotel looking out.
"She is fine...wait how did you know I called?" She asked.
"Simple you would not go this long without checking on her. She is having a blast with Amrita I bet!" he said.
"Yes I don't think she even misses me!" She said
"Well that is good..."He smiled as she nodded as he sqeezed her hand . "Now you don't have to worry that she is oing well, and we can enjoy the rest of our time here na.! After all, all we have is a few more hours here and we leave from here tomorrow...why not make the best of it?" He winked . As he stood up , she followed as he led her inside.
They spent the rest of the time lost in each other. In their own little world. Pretty Soon though Monday was here and It was time for them to get back to the city and the real world.
"Wow I can't believe it is over ...so soon..." She said as they prepared to leave.
"I know " He said as he hugged her. "We can stay longer if you wish..." He suggested.
She looked at him as she placed her arms around his neck.
"I'd love that...but..."
"but you are missing Shanti to much... I know...We'll come back soon..."
"I'd love that!" She said. "This was wonderful, unforgettable." She told him.."Tha..." She stopped when he gave her a look..."I mean I love you!." She kissed him.
"I love you to...now shall we?...this time you'll see the trip during the day light," she laughed. He picked up the bags as they made their way to check out and back home.
