Pride comes before a fall and that is exactly what happened.
Personally I thought this was one TVS's low point. I understood that he wanted to keep Sugni away from G and therefore aranged the stay over at the haveli
BUT at the end when he gloated that Sugni trusted him more than her that was just PLAIN WRONG. That too me was sad because at that point his selfishness and arrogance was above a destruction of mother-daughter relationship especially when he knew that G was telling the trust and he was the one lying.
Yes at the temple he did feel bad about the break in that relationship but I think that came when he realised that Sugni's trust in him made her choice him over her own mother!!!!
