Vinnie, Julie
I do agree with you both he was in shock like everyone else. I don't think he realised until then how much what had happened in the past had affected Adi.
He did say to Amrita that Adi should apologies and indeed did apologies to Sugni himself.
But the fact remains that at no point thereafter he said to Adi that he was out of line.
I think one of the reasons Adi was such a self centered person who always believed that his opinion was the only one that counted and everyone should do what he believes is right is because they all pandered to his whims ie. they did what he wanted to somehow make up for him having such a rotten childhood.
And I agree with you Julie I found it unbelievable that Sugni would forget and fall in love with the man who :
- treated her soo horribly in this scene
- left her to sell herself and would have stood by and let it happen if TVS had not arrived
- who could slap and shove against a wall, a girl he had wronged because she dared to challenge his decision
- believed in a neno-second that she had been unfaithful to him with TVS
- had no compulsion in insulting, physically abusing and throwing her out in front for everyone
- who whenever things did not go his way in terms of their relationship said he would go back to Amu
It was like Sugni (because she had seen women being abused all her life) somewhere accepted that, that was part of the course, so she forgave Adi but she could not handle someone who admitted when they were wrong and apologised .
Vinnie - You are absolutely right no amount of walking on hot coals, jumping into a pond, putting on mangal sutra and sindoor multiple times would make up for the above.
BTW - change of actor does not change the character !!!!!!
